The Plankton Walker is upcoming piece of headgear in Splatoon 3. It was announced to later release via the Splatoon 3 Switch News channel as a promotion for the Zombie vs. Skeleton vs. Ghost Splatfest.
Appearance
The Plankton Walker is a black tricorne hat worn over a striped black and ink-colored bandana and a black eyepatch over the left eye. Two feathers (one matching the wearer's ink and one in a contrasting color) are secured to the right-side brim of the hat by a dull silver diamond-shaped pin with an engraved fish skeleton pattern.
Splatoon 3
Abilities
The The Plankton Walker comes with Last-Ditch Effort as the primary ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Headgear, prevents the wearer from also having Comeback, Opening Gambit, or Tenacity. As a 2-star item, the The Plankton Walker comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Naut Couture for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the SquidForce gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main) to fill its secondary ability slots.

Etymology
The Plankton walker is a play on plankton, microscopic sea organisms, and walking the plank, a method of execution sometimes used by pirates.
