Drop Roller is an ability in Splatoon 2. The ability is exclusive to shoes, and cannot be rolled as a sub ability.
Drop Roller allows the player to roll after performing a Super Jump (including when jumping back to the Ink Jet's starting point) by tilting in the desired direction. The roll is similar to the one provided by the Splat Dualies, albeit much slower. After a Drop Roll, the user will get Run Speed Up, Swim Speed Up, and Ink Resistance Up for about 3 seconds.
Tactics
This ability is useful for surviving a super jumping to a dangerous location. When a player super jumps, a marker is normally visible to all players indicating the location the player will jump to, opponents may be waiting near the marker to try to splat that player. Drop Roller help to prevent the opponent succeeding in do that. Players should also consider Stealth Jump.
