Drop Roller is an ability in Splatoon 2. The ability is exclusive to shoes, and cannot be rolled as a sub ability.
Drop Roller allows the player to roll after performing a Super Jump (including when jumping back to the Ink Jet's starting point) by tilting in the desired direction. The roll is similar to the one provided by the Splat Dualies, albeit much slower. After a Drop Roll, the user will get Run Speed Up, Swim Speed Up, and Ink Resistance Up for about 3 seconds.
Tactics
This ability is useful for surviving a super jump to a dangerous location. When a player super jumps, a marker is normally visible that shows their landing location. Opponents may wait near the marker to try and splat the player. Drop Roller allows the player to get out of the way, possibly dodging toward the enemy to
return fire. Players more worried about long range opponents sniping them should consider Stealth Jump.
