Hero Mode Part 2 is the ninth chapter of the Splatoon manga. It was first released on 28 April 2017.
Plot
Agents 3 and 3.5 and Cap'n Cuttlefish were taken by DJ Octavio, and the fight begins to save the Great Zapfish. While all hope seems to be lost due to being outnumbered, Agents 1 and 2 come in time to assist them. After defeating DJ Octavio, they decide to share the Zapfishes as the Octarians were running out of electricity.
Cap'n Cuttlefish, Goggles, and Rider are still hanging on the UFO, and Goggles eats his lunch, which annoys Rider. DJ Octavio then tries to shake them off the UFO, resulting in them falling into a boss kettle, and DJ Octavio now appearing with his Octobot King, and having sucked the Great Zapfish into it. DJ Octavio then starts to play music, which Goggles and Cap'n Cuttlefish dance to, and Rider asks how they can dance right now. DJ Octavio then attacks them with one of the Octobot King's fists, and he now starts to attack them with every attack that he has. Then, Octarians appear, and DJ Octavio tells them to charge at the trio. Then, Goggles decides to ride on one of the Octobot's fists, and he rides up to DJ Octavio. Goggles doesn't do anything, except for changing DJ Octavio's wasabi with radishes, which doesn't let DJ Octavio play his turntables, and slows down the Octarians. Rider says that there are "...still too many for the three..." of them, and then the same two people that came into Octo Valley appear, and they say, "It's five!". They both use Inkzooka and splat a lot of Octarians. They then reveal themselves to be Agents 1 and 2, and they fight alongside Goggles and Rider. Agent 1 compliments Agent 2, and Agent 2 responds that she'll protect her back, leading Goggles to get the idea to protect Rider's back by hanging from his back. Rider gets mad at Goggles and tells him to get off, but then is surprised that it works. DJ Octavio says that he has his "grand finale", and deploys the Rally Missile, and Goggles climbs on it. Goggles then says that he'll "crash into the ground" if they don't do anything, but he gets the idea of hitting the rally missile back at DJ Octavio, and it works. Goggles defeats DJ Octavio, and Cap'n Cuttlefish puts him in a snow globe. Goggles asks DJ Octavio why he stole the Zapfish, and DJ Octavio says that "Octo Valley doesn't have enough electricity.", and they had to steal them to have electricity. Goggles then comes up with the idea of giving the Octarians some of the Zapfishes, and he asks the Zapfish that he has, and it nods in approval. Agents 1 and 2 then say that they have to get going, but they accidentally crash into the floor instead of going into the kettle that leads to Inkopolis. Some of their headgear falls off, and they are revealed to be the Squid Sisters. They say not to tell anyone, and successfully leave through the kettle. Goggles and Rider then also leave Octo Valley shortly after, and the Great Zapfish is now back in Inkopolis Tower.
