Neo Octoling Armor

The Neo Octoling Armor is a piece of clothing in Splatoon 2.

It is a 2-star item produced by Cuttlegear and comes with the primary ability Haunt. It is obtained from the Octo Expansion by talking to Iso Padre after collecting two sets of mem cakes (including grayscale mem cakes). It must then be claimed from a box in Inkopolis Square after completing the Octo Expansion. It cannot be ordered from another player.

Appearance

It is a black leather crop top with a sash-shaped breastplate secured with a belt accompanied by a pair of leather fingerless gloves and two belts worn around the waist, forming a cross. This piece of gear is also worn by enemy Octolings in Octo Canyon and Octo Expansion.

Abilities

The Neo Octoling Armor come with Haunt as the primary ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Clothing, prevents the wearer from also having Ability Doubler, Ninja Squid, Respawn Punisher, or Thermal Ink. As a 2-star item, the Neo Octoling Armor comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Since it is made by the Cuttlegear gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.

Trivia

• Unlike some other gear earned in single-player modes, the Neo Octoling Armor is not called a "replica". This is shared with the other Neo Octoling clothing, and the original Octoling set from Splatoon. This could possibly mean that it is not a replica, but genuine clothing from the Octolings.
  • It may be the gear that Agent 8 used when in the Octarian army and Iso Padre recovered it.
