=== ''Splatoon'' Weapon DLC Leak ===
=== Cheat code ===
There was a leak on the internet for the ''Splatoon'' Weapons Guidebook that confirmed the DLC weapons known as [[Carbon Roller]], [[Custom E-Liter 3K]], [[E-Liter 3K Scope]], [[Inkbrush]], [[L-3 Nozzlenose]], [[N-Zap '85]], [[N-Zap '89]], [[Rapid Blaster Deco]] and [[Splash-o-matic]]. Many of these weapons were, in fact, released through early updates, and thus it can be expected that the rest will be released in later updates.
Some days after the game's launch, players noticed that some [[Sunken Scrolls]], as well as signs on [[Inkopolis Plaza]], contain what appears to be arrows pointing up, down, left or right.<ref>[http://www.reddit.com/r/splatoon/comments/37vcxt/possible_secret_arrows_on_top_of_the_shops/ Reddit post with a player noticing the arrows]</ref>

=== Cheat Code ===
On the 9th of June, 2015, the official Splatoon Facebook page made a joke post referencing how some Facebook users accidentally type Google search queries on their Facebook profiles.<ref>[https://www.facebook.com/SplatoonEN/posts/1462074874086121 The official Splatoon Facebook page's "Squid Jump cheats" post]</ref> This joke, however, sparked curiosity amongst fans, as the "search" was for "Squid Jump cheats". Naturally, Nintendo staff themselves would not be searching for cheat codes on a game made by their company, meaning the post was placed there on purpose, likely to hint players about the existence of a code hidden inside the game.

On top of this, the official Splatoon Tumblr account made a post about how players can press [ZR] on the Plaza to look around, and how this serves the additional purpose of getting information on Miiverse posts. It also mentioned that it "may also have another use", which remains unknown to this day. <ref>[http://splatoonus.tumblr.com/post/119879235773/pressing-the-zr-button-while-in-the-plaza-will Official Splatoon Tumblr page's post about the <nowiki>[ZR]</nowiki> button]</ref>

As of yet, no code has been found, and it is unknown if there is any relation between the arrows, the rumored code, and the rumored extra function of the [ZR] button, or if any secret exists to begin with. Players have since been attempting to figure something out by input the arrow's directions during different parts of the game, mostly the [[Squid Jump]] minigame, but without luck.<ref>[http://www.reddit.com/r/splatoon/comments/3988us/splatoons_facebook_page_made_a_joke_about_trying/ Reddit post with players' attempts to use the code in various places of the game]</ref>

|-
| Octobrush
| [[Squid Beakon]]
| [[Kraken]]

==== Upcoming modes ====
The official description of the upcoming [[Ranked Battle]] mode, [[Rainmaker]], was discovered.

===== [[Rainmaker]] =====
In Rainmaker, both teams compete to snag the Rainmaker. Once you've got it, the goal is to carry it into the other team's base! So as soon as the battle begins, grab that Rainmaker!

It's guarded by a shield, though, so you'll need to bust it out first.
Once you snag it, head for the other team's base. And be quick about it!

If you run out of time or get splatted, the Rainmaker will be dropped. Its shield will also reactivate.

The Rainmaker is crazy heavy, so you can't Super Jump while carrying it. Your teammates will have to watch your back!

The Rainmaker can also shoot ink like an [[Inkzooka]], so you can clear a path!
The closer you get to the enemy base while holding the Rainmaker, the lower your goal distance will drop.

If the battle ends without anyone carrying the Rainmaker to the goal, the team with the lowest goal distance will win!

Template:Todo

There are a few rumors and leaks regarding content inside Splatoon. Some of these are created by the community, while others are sparked by the developers themselves.

Ongoing

This is a list of rumors that have neither been confirmed true nor false.

Cheat code

Some days after the game's launch, players noticed that some Sunken Scrolls, as well as signs on Inkopolis Plaza, contain what appears to be arrows pointing up, down, left or right.[1]

On the 9th of June, 2015, the official Splatoon Facebook page made a joke post referencing how some Facebook users accidentally type Google search queries on their Facebook profiles.[2] This joke, however, sparked curiosity amongst fans, as the "search" was for "Squid Jump cheats".

As of yet, no code has been found, and it is unknown if there is any relation between the arrows, the rumored code, and the rumored extra function of the [ZR] button, or if any secret exists to begin with. Players have since been attempting to figure something out by input the arrow's directions during different parts of the game, mostly the Squid Jump minigame, but without luck.[4]

(New) Super Mario Sunshine DLC

There is a new Super Mario Sunshine amiibo DLC rumor with several images.[5] These images depict new Sunshine-related gear and Hero Mode missions.

Confirmed

This is a list of rumors that have been confirmed true.

Datamine DLC leak

NWPlayer123 datamined Splatoon and found files for upcoming DLC weapons, stages, and modes.[6]

Upcoming modes

The official description of the upcoming Ranked Battle mode, Rainmaker, was discovered.

Rainmaker

In Rainmaker, both teams compete to snag the Rainmaker. Once you've got it, the goal is to carry it into the other team's base! So as soon as the battle begins, grab that Rainmaker!

It's guarded by a shield, though, so you'll need to bust it out first. Once you snag it, head for the other team's base. And be quick about it!

If you run out of time or get splatted, the Rainmaker will be dropped. Its shield will also reactivate.

The Rainmaker is crazy heavy, so you can't Super Jump while carrying it. Your teammates will have to watch your back!

The Rainmaker can also shoot ink like an Inkzooka, so you can clear a path! The closer you get to the enemy base while holding the Rainmaker, the lower your goal distance will drop.

If the battle ends without anyone carrying the Rainmaker to the goal, the team with the lowest goal distance will win!

This is a list of rumors that have been confirmed false.

Super Mario Sunshine DLC

The supposedly leaked image.

There was a "leak" on the internet that Super Mario Sunshine amiibo DLC was coming to Splatoon. Only a single image existed regarding this supposed leak. It has since been proven fake, with the author of the leak releasing the images they used to create it.[9]
