Controller VM
The Controller VM is headgear in the Splatoon series.
It is a 2-star item produced by Cuttlegear and comes with the primary ability Ink Resistance Up. It is obtained in Side Order by trading Prlz with Cipher, who appears in the Order Sector after clearing the Spire of Order once. It cannot be ordered from another player.
Appearance
The Controller VM is a replica of the headgear worn by Marina when mind-controlled by the Overlorder as Marina Agitando. It consists of a pair of dark gray headphones attached to a visor-like device that resembles a virtual reality headset. The ears of the headphones are formed from opposite halves of a Virtual Boy controller, though with the A and B Buttons colored white instead of red in keeping with the "colorless" theme of the campaign. Two long pegs designed after the Virtual Boy's stand extend from either ear.

Abilities
The Controller VM comes with Ink Resistance Up as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the Controller VM comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the Cuttlegear gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.
