The Record Shop Look EP is a piece of clothing in the Splatoon series.

It is a 3-star item produced by Grizzco and comes with a random primary ability generated when it is received. It is only available as a reward from Salmon Run as the monthly gear or in a Pink Capsule. It cannot be ordered from another player.

It first became available on 1 July 2018 at 00:00 UTC.

Appearance

The Record Shop Look EP is a black apron worn over a white T-shirt. The T-shirt has red Inkling text including a marking similar to the Splatoon logo on the left sleeve. On the front of the apron, in yellow, is the logo of the Inkling world's equivalent of Tower Records, with letters resembling the word "TOWER". The same logo can be seen on billboards near Inkopolis Square, Starfish Mainstage, and Moray Towers. The apron is decorated with various pins, has a name tag on the left breast, and a yellow pen sticking out of the left pocket.

On 3 July 2018, the Japanese Splatoon Twitter account announced that this gear is part of a real-life collaboration with the Shibuya branch of Tower Records, and an exhibition on Splatoon was held at the eighth floor of the branch from July 13th to August 5th, including design documents and concept artwork.[1]

Abilities

The Record Shop Look EP comes with a random primary ability that can also appear as secondary abilities, which prevents the wearer from having Ability Doubler, Haunt, Ninja Squid, Respawn Punisher, or Thermal Ink as they are exclusive to Clothing and cannot appear as secondary abilities. This primary ability is assigned randomly when the item is received. As a 3-star item, the Record Shop Look EP comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Grizzco gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.
