A triple King Salmonid threat, huh? I'll be generous this time and allocate 2 uses of your special ability and some special model weapons from surplus.

The Triumvirate is a special type of boss encounter where all three King Salmonids attack together during an Xtrawave in Salmon Run Next Wave. They debuted during the BIG Big Run in Sizzle Season 2024.

Description

During a BIG Big Run Xtrawave, the three King Salmonids emerge from different parts of the stage and attack in their usual patterns. Each of the three King Salmonids has its own health bar, and defeating one displays a message in shaky letters, e.g. "Cohozuna down!" All three must be defeated to clear the Xtrawave. Regardless of if a crew defeats the boss, fish scales are dispensed at a tripled rate.

The Triumvirate is the only type of King Salmonid to be fought during a BIG Big Run's Xtrawaves. Alongside the standard egg cannon, players are equipped with one of the eight rare weapons and are supplied with two uses of their special weapon instead of the usual one. Independently of the damage players may inflict on them, the King Salmonids are able to damage one another if Megalodontia's attack or Horrorboros' bomb are within range of the other Kings.

Tips

  • As the attack patterns of each King Salmonid are the same as while facing them alone, all their strengths and weaknesses stay the same as well.
  • The player targeted by Megalodontia should lure it to the location where Horrorboros' mouth is heading to. The damage of the attack is enough to destroy the charging bomb, which in return damages both King Salmonids and anything closeby.
    • Chaining this process is the safest way to defeat all three King Salmonids as it avoids attacks by Horrorboros while reducing high amounts of both Horrorboros' and Megalodontia's health.
  • Due to the three King Salmonids taking up a lot of space alongside the Boss Salmonids, utilizing main and special weapon's advantages to the fullest ensures control over the battle.
    • High damage inflicting weapons like the Grizzco Charger or Grizzco Stringer should mainly focus on attacking the King Salmonids directly. While the Stringer does more Damage to one King Salmonid the more projectiles hit, the Charger is capable of hitting more King Salmonids due to its piercing capability.
    • Weapons excelling at turfing and crowd control like the Grizzco Brella, Grizzco Dualies and Grizzco Roller should ensure the floors and walls are covered in the player's ink to make splatting Boss Salmonids and avoiding King Salmonid attacks easier.
    • Armor piercing weapons like the Grizzco Slosher and Grizzco Splatana should mainly focus on Boss Salmonids, so that they and the other player's can use as many Golden Eggs as possible.
    • The Grizzco Blaster should adapt according to the situation to make up for the other weapons weaknesses.
    • Situationally, the Grizzco Roller can inflict massive amounts of damage on Megalodontia if it is lured to a location where the player can be stuck between it and a wall to use the roll attack without being knocked back from it.
      • Horrorboros might spawn out of one of the gushers during a Big Run, where the same technique can be used.
    • Both Crab Tank special weapons should mainly be used against Megalodontia's weakpoint and aimed at the other King Salmonids if it descents into the ground. If the players find difficulties in aiming Megalodontia at Horrorboros, its bomb should be attacked instead. Should Cohozuna not take enough damage over the course of the battle, one of the Crab Tanks can also be directed at it instead.
