The Grizzco Stringer is a Salmon Run Next Wave rare weapon in Splatoon 3. It appears to be an illegitimately modified[1] Tri-Stringer.

Splatoon 3

The Grizzco Stringer is one of the rare weapons in Salmon Run Next Wave. Compared to the Tri-Stringer, it has a faster charge time and significantly higher damage, but also has a much faster rate of ink consumption and is difficult to aim. It is optimal when fighting against the King Salmonid to use the Grizzco Stringer, being one of the only weapons with more damage per second than the egg cannon. It was first available on 1 October 2022 at 16:00 UTC.[2]

Data

The Grizzco Stringer can fire up to nine explosive shots in an irregular spread, arranged in a general line. Its nine projectiles deal 150 damage each (on a full charge), for a total of 1350. A tap shot deals 35 damage for a total of 315. At full charge, it can splat every type of Salmonid in one shot, except Flyfish and King Salmonids.

With a tap shot, the range of the Grizzco Stringer is 150 units, three lines in the Grizzco training lobby. With a charge, it goes up to 300 units, six lines in the lobby.

A tap shot uses 10% of the ink tank, meaning the player can fire exactly ten times before running out of ink. A full charge uses about 30% of the ink tank, meaning the player can fire three times and charge halfway before running out of ink.

Trivia

  • Among all the main weapons in the Splatoon series, the Grizzco Stringer is able to deal the highest amount of damage, reaching a total 1350 base damage with a full charge.
    • The Grizzco Stringer and Grizzco Splatana are the only main weapons that are able to deal more than 999.9 damage.
  • Contrary to other rare weapons, while the Tri-Stringer boasts standard mobility, the Grizzco Stringer enjoys an increased run and swim speed that classifies it as fast.[3]
    • Notably, this puts its movement on par with the REEF-LUX 450, a fellow lightweight stringer.
    • This would suggest that overtaxed appearances aside, the Grizzco Stringer's modifications serve to lighten the Tri-Stringer.
