The Cartoony Funface is headgear in Splatoon 3.
It is a 2-star item produced by SquidForce and comes with the primary ability Last-Ditch Effort. It is available from the Switch News channel as a promotion for the Palace vs. Theme Park vs. Beach Splatfest. It cannot be ordered from another player.
Appearance
The Cartoony Funface is a Japanese festival mask depicting a stylized cartoon face of a cheerful Inkling wearing a shorter version of the Megalobraid hairstyle. It changes to a desaturated shade of the wearer's ink color.
Splatoon 3
Abilities
The Cartoony Funface comes with Last-Ditch Effort as the primary ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Headgear, prevents the wearer from also having Comeback, Opening Gambit, or Tenacity. As a 2-star item, the Cartoony Funface comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Naut Couture for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the SquidForce gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Ink Resistance Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Main) to fill its secondary ability slots.
