Inklings heading toward the egg basket, carrying golden eggs.

The egg basket is an object in Salmon Run and Salmon Run Next Wave that is used to hold Golden Eggs. It can appear in two different locations on each Salmon Run stage; one location for both mid and high tide waves, and one for low tide waves. When each round starts, players are always spawned near where the egg basket appears during mid and high tide.

Description

The egg basket consists of 4 upright metal supports that frame a red netted basket and support a metal lid on top. It emerges from and folds into a boxy metal container marked with a salmon logo. Red rope lights run up and down each of the supports, and are zip tied in place. Attached to one of the supports is a flagpole with a blinking orange light on the top. The flagpole flies a green Grizzco flag that gradually climbs higher on the pole as more Golden Eggs are placed in the basket, reaching the top when the quota is met. On an adjacent support is what appears to be a switch with two buttons, one red and one blue. The basket on the inside is made of red fishing net, and is held into place by 3 circular blue hoops. The lid serves as a funnel into the basket. The top of the lid spirals downward and also rotates, guiding eggs into the basket. Before each wave starts and after each wave ends, the basket is covered with a cylindrical metal cage that hides the basket's interior.

Use

The basket is used to hold Golden Eggs, which can be placed inside by having a Golden Egg on one's back, going close to the basket, and pressing . The player's job is to get a certain amount of Golden Eggs inside the basket within a time limit. Players are free to exceed the Golden Egg quota as much as they can. If not enough Golden Eggs are placed into the egg basket before a wave ends, their pay will be cut or retained.
