Swim Speed Up
Swim Speed Up is an ability in Splatoon and Splatoon 2. Krak-On gear has a 5× chance of rolling this ability.
Swim Speed Up increases movement speed while swimming in squid form. Like Run Speed Up, this ability comes in handy during the opening moments in a match when players are heading toward a stage's center. It is especially useful in Ranked Battles as players need to get to a certain place quickly.
Splatoon
Swim Speed Up increases movement speed while swimming in squid form and Kraken form by up to 25%.
Use
This ability makes it easier to chase enemies with the Kraken.

Stacking
The following table shows the increase in swim speed when stacking Swim Speed Up.
-
Graph showing the effects of stacking Swim Speed Up.
-
Stacking Swim Speed Up can slightly counter the movement penalty caused by a Disruptor.
Splatoon 2
The effect of Swim Speed Up depends on the weight class of the player's equipped main weapon. It increases swim speed by up to 20% for players with lightweight weapons, up to 25% for those with middleweight weapons, and up to 38% for those with heavyweight weapons.
The ability can be used to nullify speed penalties from weapon weight and Ninja Squid by using the amounts shown in the following table.
