Spoiler tag

Shouldn't we, like, RETURN the spoiler tags for splatoon 3 rotm pages?? Greasy Hot Dog (talk) 14:33, 23 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah, we've had that thought ourselves, personally. At the very least we should try to make some of these articles a bit more spoiler-friendly. Compare Telephone showing the Telephone in the infobox with his true form as Tartar in the Gallery. There's no quote at all on his article, but all mentions of his true role as Tartar are off-handed in the article opening with no real further elaborations outside the actual body of the article. Contrast that with Mr. Grizz, and... Spoiler with his true appearance in the infobox, quote that actively comes from before his final boss fight, yet no mention of his role in Splatoon 3 outside of him simply returning? When you have his quote about breaking squidkind as a quote, you'd think the actual opening paragraph would drop all pretense too, but that's where it relents, we guess. While the problem of spoilers becomes less and less pronounced (at least until the holiday season hits) as more and more day one players finally beat Return of the Mammalians, it's still quite a concern just because the current state of some of these articles is incredibly clunky, due in part for trying to include details that are considered high spoilers. ~Camwoodstock & Tori! (talk) 19:50, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I don't think his true form is the most appropriate picture for Mr. Grizz's infobox. For 100% of Splatoon 2 and 99% of Splatoon 3 he's just a bear statue, so that may be the best fit for the infobox. Heddy (talk) 01:14, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, especially for new players like myself
Dry Paper Hammer Bro (talk) 19:45, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Why would the RotM pages need a spoiler tag? It should be pretty obvious what each page contains from the article title and the first sentence. The first sentence of an article is usually something like "SubjectOfArticle is a TypeOfThing in Splat2 and Splat3", so when it says that and you haven't completed the story of Splat3, then common sense says to not read that article. Heddy (talk) 01:36, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I am personally of the belief that wikis should not have any spoiler tags. You are knowingly entering, interacting with, and contributing to a comprehensive database. You inherently then should understand that spoilers are not only inevitable but a necessary point of data. Hiding it will therefore, in essence, hide the details about a particular topic and therefore the entry will not be complete. If you want to avoid spoilers, avoid the site and come back when you are ready—at least, that's my philosophy. Trig - 02:11, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Not all articles that contain spoilers are obvious spoilers... Greasy Hot Dog (talk) 12:07, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'd say to cut down on spoilers on pages in which they can easily not be included all over the place or at the very start, like the Mr. Grizz article just so people don't accidentally get spoiled. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience something for the first time, so we might as well make it so that the wiki isn't like treading through a minefield of spoilers for newer players. -Gulliblepikmin

I am in favor of kepping spoilers minimal. I saw the mr grizz page and had it spoiled for me.     Octohachi S3 Weapon Special Triple Inkstrike.pngS2 Salmon Run boss Griller.pngS2 Icon Golden Egg.png 22:11, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bytes

Im new to this wiki so i was wondering what these "Bytes" we have are? Im seeing them next to peoples names on the edit history tab and im not sure what they are nor is there any information online, so if someone could tell me what they are then that would be great Barracuda (talk) 19:39, 23 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bytes are an amount of data. On Inkipedia it roughly means the amount of characters (letters and symbols) in the page. The one in the brackets to the right of it with either a + or - is the difference in the amount of bytes in the revision compared to the previous one.  GX_64 (talk)  02:31, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
To be more exact, it's how many bytes were added to/removed from the page after said revision. For exmaple, if you were to change a ten-letter word into another ten-letter word and nothing else, it would say (0) because the page ended up being the same amount of bytes as before your edit.

Huge weapon images

I've noticed that the S3 weapon images in the infoboxes are way too big and most don't even fit in the infobox. Is this just me or does this happen to everyone? This occurs on a lot of devices. Also, the REEF-LUX 450 infobox image is the 2D image, not the 3D image the other weapons have. The 3D image exists, I just don't know the file name. Could someone tell me what its filename is? Thanks, OrderSquid38 New Squid.jpg OrderSquid38 [Talk] 15:25, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The weapon files are in form File:[game] Weapon Main [name]. You're looking for File:S3 Weapon Main REEF-LUX 450.png or File:S3 Weapon Main REEF-LUX 450 Flat.png. I don't know if the 3D image have been uploaded for S3 yet? But that's e.g. File:S2 Weapon Main .52 Gal 3D.png. Slate Talk Contribs 00:09, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Notice templates

Okay, we're all familiar with Notice Templates? But at the moment they are very obtuse.

I propose that:

  1. {{Todo}} notices should be moved to the talkpage
  2. {{Stub}} and {{Construction}} is removed completely, in favour of {{Incomplete}}. {{Draft}} is unaffected.
  3. Notice templates that refer to a section only, should go in that section and not at the top/bottom of the article (e.g. 0 shell)
  4. Editor notice templates that the reader doesn't care about or "get in the way" should go at the bottom of the page. These include {{Disambig}}, {{Incomplete}}, {{Images}}, {{Move}}, {{Protect}}, {{Delete}}.
  5. Notice templates that provide contextual information that the reader would care about should remain at the top, or in the relevant section. These include {{Archive}}, {{Conjecture}}, {{Future}}, {{Leak}}, {{Proposal}}, {{Real}}, {{Unofficial}}.

Love to hear thoughts on this. Slate Talk Contribs 16:51, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I don't object to the templates themselves so much, but I've definitely seen them being used irresponsibly the majority of the time. Someone thinks more content is needed on a page or section, so they stick a {{todo}} or something on it and never touch the page ever again. Notice templates are not for assigning homework to other editors. Consequently, we'll probably want to do an audit of all of their current uses and clean those up before deciding what needs to change going forward. --GuyPerfect (talk) 17:01, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think instead of moving some of these somewhere they would be noticed even less, they could be reworked to take up less space. Right now the borders and images are pretty big in like, all of them, which probably makes it feel even more like they're "getting in the way".
Taking some examples from another wiki I'm active on, see how their disambig template is just that one line of text + separating line at the top? In general, a lot of their templates that are made to be inserted into pages or sections are much thinner than Ikipedia's: see stub or incomplete. I'm not going to link them all (though I could if asked) because I think I'm being clear enough already: imo, completely redesigning some of these could be more helpful (they're still seen, but are less of a bother if you don't care at the moment).
But even apart from visibility, I'm just not sure about moving stuff to the bottom. Like, disambig pages aren't usually that big and that template is almost redundant anyway so I wouldn't really mind it that for one. But if the point of {{Move}} and {{Delete}} are to start discussion about said move or deletion, I fear moving them to the bottom is going to do the opposite of helping.
  #6-Frisk   S Ability Bomb Sniffer.pngS2 Weapon Special Booyah Bomb.png  19:38, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I too feel like making them smaller would be a good idea. MissDelibirda (talk) 19:46, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I understand a lot of this, but don't agree to all of it. The number one thing is that all of the templates are just so big, and if they were able to shrink down a bit it may reduce clutter. I think to-do on talk pages is a good idea in theory, but would voice the concern that people wouldn't remove the thing to do after it happens. I would agree with making Incomplete template a switch that defaults to missing information, or, if Stub is entered as a variable it will change the message to just say the article is broadly short or inconclusive, as opposed to Incomplete which implies a specific segment of the page is not correct. Section three is fine, and I am surprised it is not being done already. I really disagree with moving the templates in point four to the bottom. Those if anything should be seen right away to know that a major event is going to happen to the page, even as a reader. This page I am referencing constantly for something, maybe as a website link? It could be affected soon. That is pertinent information. Again, if the sizes of these templates were smaller it may reduce space lost before content begins. I do not think there is substantial difference between delete tags and unofficial tags. Would never have thought about GuyP's point, but if it does appear to be an issue, putting stricter guidelines or creating a single to-do maintenance page with linked headers could be applicable solutions. Trig - 17:42, 26 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
At the moment "incomplete" means a section is lacking, but since "incomplete" is, in English, a binary term, an article that is 99% done, and another that is 1% stubbed, are both deemed incomplete. Construction is a particularly strange one as all pages in a wiki are "under construction". Slate Talk Contribs 20:13, 26 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I've shrunk the size down on the default parameters, but I don't see this being a resolution Slate Talk Contribs 20:10, 26 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I agree with you in every way but one. The distinction between {{stub}} and {{incomplete}} is that the former describes an article with minimal information that needs to be expanded in an unknown but large number of ways, while the latter should be used for an incomplete table or an article that lacks particular information whose absence may otherwise go unnoticed. In the latter case, the template also indicates to the reader that information in the article or section may not be comprehensive. Just a silly little goose ^.^ (talk | contribs) 02:10, 29 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Moving "todo" to talk pages seems like a good idea. Hopefully it will encourage more productive use of the talk pages!
Regarding moving templates to the bottom of the page, this isn't practical for some templates like Template:Image which are sometimes placed in a specific section to indicate that section is missing content.
Regarding stub and incomplete, I don't think stub should be removed. In the same way that hospitals practice "triage" to deliver fast care for urgent needs while making patients without life-threatening needs wait hours before they get care, wikis benefit from categories indicating which articles are most desperately in need of attention. A "stub" article needs more attention than an "incomplete" article. Of course, it could be argued that Inkipedia is too small to need this distinction (Wikipedia which has 5+ different categories describing how complete an article is, necessary due to Wikipedia's size) but I would argue that we do need the "stub" template as we often see editors asking "what needs to be worked on the most?" and I think the answer is "stub articles"! Split Pages By Tabs

The fact that you need to scroll through two games' worth of outdated info to get to the Splatoon 3 stuff makes this wiki a bit bothersome to use, especially when trying to find weapon and sub info and such. To fix this I propose splitting each article's info into seperate tabs that you click on to access each game's version of the item. This would be a decently-sized project due to the writing work required to fill in the gaps, but I think it would be worth it for the increase in readibility and future-proofing for any more additions to the series. Batbrain1998 (talk) 23:14, 27 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That's not true; firstly, information about Splatoon and Splatoon 2 is not "outdated info", and secondly, you do not need to scroll through anything. Simply look at the table of contents and click the link for what part you want to look at, then it will take you to that part of the article. At-a-glance info for the most recent game is available in the infobox at the top of the page. Heddy (talk) 15:16, 1 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Agreed. MissDelibirda (talk) 15:29, 1 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
As for the idea of tabs to split pages, it seems like an idea worth considering. I have seen some websites do it successfully, but I don't think I have seen a wiki do it successfully. I have seen some discussion about this topic on this wiki's Discord, and it seems the main problem with the Tabs wiki extension is that it causes some info to not be available for users with JavaScript turned off in their web browser, which is a big problem if true. Our infoboxes don't use the Tabs extension, instead they use custom code which is designed to fail gracefully if JavaScript is disabled. Since tabbing entire wiki pages is such a radical change, and since we already have tabs working in infoxboxes, it may be best to continue things as they are, making sure any info that people often look for is in the infobox. Heddy (talk) 15:55, 1 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I like the tabs approach but would be hard for the majority of articles that reuse bits of information or the info has not changed cross-games. Agreed that we should have more information at a glance in the infobox. Slate Talk Contribs 00:13, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Would like to mention tabs are extremely poor for SEO. Would not recommend this to the point of encouraging their own page per game before adding tabs. I also don't think they're that user friendly, personally. Trig - 02:15, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Infobox standardization for RotM

Much like {{InfoboxMission/OctoExpansion}}, I believe the wiki would greatly benefit from a standard infobox template for missions in Return of the Mammalians. I would do this myself if I were more experienced with template making and if I were confident I could handle the case of Hero Gear properly, but alas I am not. Also, the page for Hero Gear still needs to be made and used in place of the incorrect "Hero Shot and Smallfry". Just a silly little goose ^.^ (talk | contribs) 05:40, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This appears to be well underway :) {{InfoboxMission/RotM}} Slate Talk Contribs 00:14, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Suggest: move Rare weapon to separate page

Now that Wildcard Rotations and Rare Weapons are in two games with different properties in each, and Salmon Run Next Wave currently incorrectly links to Rare weapon, I think it should be turned from a Redirect page to its own article. Just a silly little goose ^.^ (talk | contribs) 22:34, 2 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Agree and it already was its own article under "Rare". I've now moved it over the top of rare weapon and made it a redirect, and chopped up the rare weapon section in the salmon run article. Feel free to merge as appropriate. Slate Talk Contribs 00:03, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Anarchy Splatcast Dialogue

Hi, I think that we really need to add Deep Cut's dialogue from Anarchy Splatcast, both normal and Splatfest. I remember that there were some issues with how to display it, since it is between 3 people. I haven't heard anything about it in a while, so I was just wondering what happened. Even if we just display it in 1 column temporarily it is better than nothing. A few minutes ago I responded to someone on another talk page, and I needed to include a quote from the Anarchy Splatcast dialogue, so I had to restart the game 3 times to get the particular one I wanted, and then type it. It would be much easier if the dialogue was on Inkipedia.  GX_64 (talk)  07:21, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I totally agree with you, like Anarchy Splatcast (and Splatoon 3 in general) only have a month of released, I think its more hard for us to add it completely, maybe we can do a test in a Sandbox and then add it to the real page ;)
Splat635 12:14, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
As it has already been out for almost a month since its release, the Splatoon community might give into this idea.

I have an idea for 8 way ranked for rainmaker at least. wrong place LMAO

soooooooooooooooooo have it so that players spawn in a circle and the map is big like humpback pump track or whatever have rainmaker spawn in it's normal spot but make it so that all players have a goal and you need to get the rainmaker to the opponents goal to knock them out of the game when the RM gets to the goal or the player holding it dies it resets but with no shield no superjump cuz too op and useless at the same time.Last one standing wins ovc everyone for themself ovc. premotes being aggressive but doing that can ez stab you in the back cuz if you die then you need to respawn and people can make a Sprint to your goal. also no qr with the exception of cooler if you die with rainmaker so no meta for U. :U StAmPmOmEnT (talk) 00:39, 6 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Weapon Types

Hey, so I noticed that under the current projects page, someone said that brushes and blasters need to have their pages edited so that they say that brushes and blasters are their own weapon category. I just wanted to confirm, is this true? Thank you! ArivakiVA (talk) 17:11, 7 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Inkipedia is an encylopedia, so it doesn't have a designated place for fan-made content.
It may be best to use a real blog site like tumblr, because that's easier to use, and easier for other people to find what you create. Heddy (talk) 07:13, 9 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

When using a website as a source for wiki edits, you should add that site as a reference to the page you are editing. There is no need to notify us here, you can just add the site link to the page you are editing. Heddy (talk) 07:21, 9 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
When Goldie seeking, I have learned (from experience) that if the hatch is shining the brightest right as it hides, that will be where it is hiding. Splatoon 3 Concert.

If any of us have info on the newest concert, I think we should add it on a page, but I don't know what page. And also, if Nintendo got new lyrics to any of the songs, I think it would be appropriate to post those on the respective songs. Rozelia The Octo06 (talk) 03:44, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There is the page Bankalive for the latest concert. I have not heard of any new lyrics yet. We are probably going to have to wait for an album for Splatoon 3's soundtrack.  GX_64 (talk)  06:02, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Alright. Thanks for adding that guys. If you find any more info, this is the spot to put it! Oh, and maybe add to Bankalive a set list as well, that might be a good addition. Rozelia The Octo06 (talk) 02:02, 12 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The set list is already in Live performances. I think that it would a good addition to the Bankalive article temporarily until it can be combined with the dialogue like how it was done for previous concerts (like here: Haicalive_Kyoto_Mix). I will add it.  GX_64 (talk)  02:09, 12 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Inkipedia help pls

Hello splat fans! I’m new to having an inkipedia account thing (I’m definitely not new to the inkipedia) but because this stuff is quite confusing to me I think I might bit of an explanation on how to edit stuff like files and grammar. Also with the splatfest coming can someone convince to pick a team I have no idea what to choose… any way thanks for reading!!Glitch♩ink (talk) 05:51, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hello Glitch♩ink,
There is some editing help here: Help:Contents. I also find it useful to look at the source for pages with similar things to what I want to add.
To edit grammar, just click edit, make your changes, and then click "save changes". For editing files, do you mean uploading new versions, or changing the information about the file? To upload a new version scroll down to File history and click "Upload a new version of this file". There are further instructions there. If you would like to change the information with the file you can edit it the same as other pages.
For the Splatfest, I am going with team Fire, since I picked Charmander when I played Pokemon FireRed. If you can't decide you could wait until the Splatfest gets announced in game and choose based on what the members of Deep Cut say.  GX_64 (talk)  06:30, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Wow Thanks GX 64 ! You definitely helped me, and I think I’ll go team fire then Glitch♩ink (talk) 07:50, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Adding the missing songs of C-Side

There are at least 2 more songs that have not been added to the wiki. Any ideas? ChromeWolf (talk) 13:22, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If @GX 64 has any information, I will be more than happy to help ChromeWolf (talk) 13:23, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think the reason that they haven't been added yet is that they don't have names, although some songs have been added that don't have names, such as Chaos Carnival. I am thinking that maybe the part about them in the C-Side page could be extended to include more information. I don't know if the files for them exist yet on Inkipedia. I will check tomorrow.  GX_64 (talk)  13:46, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If so, could you tell us where that is? Please and thank you. the octoling girl 00:01, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
The SplatNet2 info was hidden on the Main Page to prevent confusion from Splatoon 3 players. If anyone wants to step up and create a Splatoon 3 equivalent for the wiki, they are more than welcome to create it! Heddy (talk) 22:15, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh I thought that was something that was a work in progress or going to be added by the admins sometime, because I think a tweet said something about a new main page. Its nice to have some clarity on that. Cruelty to Salmons (talk) 19:01, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Shiver's gender

Should we remove the article about Shiver's gender, since it's been confirmed? I'm just wondering, because I don't really feel like it's necessary anymore. ArivakiVA (talk) 16:45, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There's an entire article about that? What page are you referring to? Heddy (talk) 22:09, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh, oops. I'm dumb. wrong term, sorry! I meant a section, not an article. So sorry! ArivakiVA (talk) 17:14, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's a section on her character page, I just used the wrong term. Sorry Heddy! I'm just new around here, haha... ArivakiVA (talk) 17:19, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Been there, done that. Chrome Wolf (talk) 14:51, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@ArivakiVA Next time you can just link to it like Shiver#Gender by using the wiki code [[Shiver#Gender]], so that we know what you're talking about.
Since this topic does not impact the entire wiki, you should discuss this at Talk:Shiver. There is already plenty of discussion there, just add a new topic specifically about your desired changes to the article. In general, information should not be removed from a wiki unless it is inaccurate or out-of-scope, so you need to have a good reason to remove content, and the majority of editors need to agree with you. So, go to Talk:Shiver to start that discussion. Heddy (talk) 15:10, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you! I was just wondering. ArivakiVA (talk) 23:23, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

How do you create a page?

Sorry, I'm really new here, so I have no idea how most of this stuff works, but how do you create a page? Sorry about this...but thanks. ArivakiVA (talk) 18:14, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thats actually a good question, i dont know the official way to do it, but if you put whatever the name you want your page to have in the search bar and search it, there should be a pop up that say "create the page "(whatever you searched)" on this wiki!" with a red link to create the page.
I highly doubt thats the only way to do it tho. (btw if someone can tell me how to create categories please do) Lake (talk) 19:45, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That is one way to do it. Another is to (when on a page) use WhatLinksHere to type in the page you want to create. This can be done with categories as well, just by entering Category: to the start of the name. An alternate way is by having a broken link (in red) on a page, and then clicking said page to make the page. There is no so called "Create Page" page, though. Trig - 19:58, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You can also create new pages like this https://splatoonwiki.org/wiki/Newpage. Replace Newpage with the page title, and it will say: "There is currently no text in this page. You can search for this page title in other pages, search the related logs, or create this page." click "create this page" you're now creating a new page! Greasy Hot Dog (talk) 16:53, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I really wouldn't create pages unless you know a lot about the subject, but I usually add in missing information, just to help out. ChromeWolf (talk) 12:19, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Okay, I'm having trouble, how do you change the name of a page? I need to change the name of my Inkfest info page. Here's the link if you want to join though. User:ArivakiVA/Chocolate vs. Vanilla ArivakiVA (talk) 18:35, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Splatoon 3 Inkfests?

I saw that some events named “Inkfests” were made time ago by the Inkipedia community but that there are none in a long time, and Idk I think its good to try to start again with these custom splatfes-like events now with Splatoon 3, even if there are Splatfest ocurring, maybe a way to enjoy being part of the Inkipedia Community? Idk it will be something we should think together, don’t ya think?

Platelet✨(talk👌🏻) 23:30, 16 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I think it would be a great idea to start doing the Inkfests again. It would be a great way to make friends across the wiki. They aren’t to hard to do at all. Having three teams might be a challenge though. :) S3 art 3D Inkling splat.pngOddlildude (chat)S3 Inkling E-liter Scope Render.png 00:38, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ok @Oddlildude and @Platelet, should we make a page and throw out ideas, or is that something we should do on the discord? I'm not allowed to have discord :( , but maybe someone could throw it out there? People could maybe come up with ideas on discord, vote for it, and then announce it on the wiki tab. And maybe we could have multiple games going on at once, run by different people on the admin/ patroller team. I definitely think we could organize something though! DFTBA, Xandpochondria (talk) 14:37, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If you are thinking about that, could we maybe have a Halloween Inkfest? the octoling girl 00:06, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
I was actually thinking about hosting my own Inkfest! Currently I just need to make a rules page for it. I'll add the link to the page once I'm finished if you want to join! ArivakiVA (talk) 17:52, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okey dokey, here's the link, sorry about the name of the page though. Still need to fix it. Fest is called Chocolate vs. Vanilla! User:ArivakiVA/Chocolate vs. Vanilla ArivakiVA (talk) 18:37, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Xandpochondria I think if we’re able to make a page for it on the wiki due to some not having discord. Of course the page would need to be marked with the UNOFFICIAL category. S3 art 3D Inkling splat.pngOddlildude (chat)S3 Inkling E-liter Scope Render.png 19:12, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi there, I have moved your Inkfest page to User:ArivakiVA/Chocolate vs. Vanilla. Pages for Inkfests should be made in the userspace, not in the mainspace. Thanks! User:Eminence/Sig3 19:19, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
Also, if you have any other questions about Inkfests, feel free to contact me or another Inkipedia staff member. User:Eminence/Sig3 19:22, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

Inkfest, anyone? Chocolate vs. Vanilla

Hosting an Inkfest for the first time! I thought this through for a while and finally decided to do it! Here's the link to the page if you want to join/see the rules! Hope I at least get 5 people... :,) Oh, yeah, so sorry for having said I was doing this 3 different times, or something...I just need as many players as I can get. I noticed that you said "North America time", but there are at least 4 different time zones in North America. You should probably say which one. Heddy (talk) 22:27, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oop, sorry. I forgot about that. I think it's the PDT time zone? (Thanks for telling me!) ArivakiVA (talk) 17:00, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Not gonna lie, didn't think this was the right place to announce the inkfest. :/ ArivakiVA (talk) 17:02, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

where to tell meta and combos

where to put this it's burst bomb combo with level one fizzy indirect or direct and a direct slosh from a curtain meta dominating weapon that may or may not already shoots thru walls this makes it more op FuN StAmPmOmEnT (talk) 19:33, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I don't know whether it's necessary to add combos...maybe if you really want to you should put them in your user sandbox. I just don't think they should be added to an actual page...maybe ask someone on staff? They'll probably know. ArivakiVA (talk) 19:57, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Saturating and deluminating the color to the same level as the in-game Ink color while maintaining the same hue helps with legibility somewhat, but there has to be a better solution.

Gear tabs

Currently, the tabs at the bottom of pages relating to headgear, clothing, and shoes are organized by amount of stars. This makes sense in the first two Splatoon games because the amount of stars can be changed, but in Splatoon 3, they can be increased, making the organization unhelpful. I think that we should change how they are organized. Besnhasthefun (talk) 11:37, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That was my doing after a discussion with the Discord server, bearing in mind that the gear is listed in order of default stars, so in my opinion, the boxes are still useful for that. But we can consider it! GloverMist (talk) 17:06, 19 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I find this request/suggestion useful, however I do agree with @GloverMist on this one. Chrome Wolf (talk) 15:10, 23 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
