The Squidlife Headphones are headgear in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon 2, they are a 3-star item produced by Forge and come with the primary ability Ink Recovery Up. They can be purchased from Headspace for Cash 7,070 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for Cash 10,605.

In Splatoon 3, they are a 2-star item produced by Forge and come with the primary ability Ink Recovery Up. They can be purchased from Naut Couture for Cash 7,070 or from SplatNet 3 Shop for Cash 10,605.

Appearance

The Squidlife Headphones are a pair of headphones with small orange speakers attached. Said speakers don't completely cover the wearer's ears like some of the other headphones, but instead fold them backward and pin them against the side of the head. The headphones themselves are made out of grey metal strips and have black clips connecting the strips to one another.

Abilities

The Squidlife Headphones come with Ink Recovery Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 2, they come with any other primary ability normally available to Headgear. As a 3-star item, the Squidlife Headphones come with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since they are made by the Forge gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Special Power Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Sub) to fill their secondary ability slots.

The Squidlife Headphones appear in a promotional render for Splatoon 3.

Abilities

The Squidlife Headphones come with Ink Recovery Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 3, they come with any other primary ability normally available to Headgear. As a 2-star item, the Squidlife Headphones come with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of them from Naut Couture for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since they are made by the Forge gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Special Power Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Sub) to fill their secondary ability slots.

Trivia

  • This gear may be a reference to headphones included in Famicom S.D. Station. Both have the same color and style, and have other examples of using famicom accessories in Splatoon.
  • This gear's housing and gimbals resemble the classic button design on headphones from Grado Labs, and the headband and adjustment blocks resemble the Porta Pro line from Koss.
