Designer Headphones

The Designer Headphones^(NA) or Colourful Headphones^(EU/OC), are headgear in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, they are a 2-star item produced by Forge and come with the primary ability Ink Saver (Sub). They can be purchased from Cooler Heads for  2,500.

In Splatoon 2, they are a 2-star item produced by Forge and come with the primary ability Ink Saver (Sub). They can be purchased from Headspace for  2,500 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for  5,000.

Appearance

The Designer Headphones are a pair of very stylish headphones. The sides and top are the same color as the wearer's ink, but fade to a yellow-orange at the front regardless of ink color. On both earpieces is a circular design that also changes color based on ink, but not to match - it is generally a complementary color or close to it.

The Designer Headphones comes with Ink Saver (Sub) as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the Designer Headphones comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since it is made by the Forge gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Special Duration Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Sub) to fill its secondary ability slots.

When purchased from SplatNet 2, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Headgear. As a 2-star item, the Designer Headphones comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Since it is made by the Forge gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Special Power Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Sub) to fill its secondary ability slots.

The Designer Headphones appeared in a Twitter post showcasing various shooter-class weapons on 2 May 2022. The rarity, cost, ability and other information regarding the gear item is currently unknown.
