The Samurai Helmet is headgear in the Splatoon series.
In Splatoon, it is a 2-star item produced by amiibo and comes with the primary ability Damage Up. It is only available from the Inkling Boy or the Splatoon 2 series Inkling Boy 2 amiibo. It cannot be ordered from another player.
In Splatoon 2, it is a 2-star item produced by amiibo and comes with the primary ability Quick Super Jump. It is only available from the Inkling Boy amiibo. It cannot be ordered from another player.
In Splatoon 3, it is a 2-star item produced by amiibo and comes with the primary ability Quick Super Jump. It is only available from the Inkling Boy amiibo. It cannot be ordered from another player.
Appearance
The Samurai Helmet is a large helmet wider than the wearer's shoulders, in the style of kabuto. It has a shiny gold crest on the front in the shape of a stylized squid and a thick cord tied in a bow at the chin. It also has two large, curved, wing-like shapes, one on both sides of the head. The cord as well as the back and sides of the helmet change color to match that of the wearer's Ink.
Because of its unusually large size, the Samurai Helmet often clips with the wearer's body and/or surroundings.
Splatoon
Abilities
The Samurai Helmet comes with Damage Up as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the Samurai Helmet comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since it is made by the amiibo gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.
Unlock
The Samurai Helmet is awarded after completing the first set of Octo Valley missions from the Inkling Boy (Splatoon) amiibo:
- 1. Octotrooper Hideout — Catch That Zapfish!
- 2. Lair of the Octoballs — Splat Your Way to the Top!
- 3. Rise of the Octocopters — Leap to Victory!
- Boss 1: Squish, Squash, Smash... The Mighty Octostomp!
Splatoon 2
Abilities
The Samurai Helmet comes with Quick Super Jump as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the Samurai Helmet comes with two additional slots for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Since it is made by the amiibo gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.
Splatoon 3
Abilities
The Samurai Helmet comes with Quick Super Jump as the primary ability. As a 2-star item, the Samurai Helmet comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the amiibo gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.
Trivia
- A UI icon for the item was discovered in the data files for Super Mario Maker. The metalic flanges on the front are straight and do not appear to be reflective at this time, and the cord is blue.
