Template:InfoboxGame The Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere was a free Splatoon 3 demo. Much like its predecessor, it allowed players to engage in up to twelve hours of four-versus-four Splatfest Turf Wars ahead of the full game's release.
Details
The demo was made available to pre-order on 10 August 2022, immediately after its reveal in the Splatoon 3 Direct and pre-loads began on 18 August 2022.
From 25 August 2022, the demo was available to play, allowing players to complete the tutorial, choose a side in the Rock vs. Paper vs. Scissors Splatfest and explore Splatsville. The event itself took place from 27 August 2022, allowing players to take part in the twelve-hour Splatfest at different times depending on region.
There were 26 weapons available which are half as many as in the full game's release.[1] Weapons available were: Splattershot Jr., Aerospray MG, Splattershot, .52 Gal, N-ZAP '85, Splattershot Pro, Luna Blaster, Blaster, Splat Roller, Dynamo Roller, Inkbrush, Octobrush, Splat Charger, Splatterscope, E-liter 4K, E-liter 4K Scope, Slosher, Tri-Slosher, Heavy Splatling, Hydra Splatling, Splat Dualies, Dark Tetra Dualies, Splat Brella, Tenta Brella, Tri-Stringer, and Splatana Wiper.
There were seven stages available in rotation, as opposed to the twelve in the full game. Stages for Splatfest Battle included: Scorch Gorge, Eeltail Alley, Undertow Spillway, Mincemeat Metalworks, Museum d'Alfonsino, and Mahi-Mahi Resort. The only stage for Tricolor Turf War was Sturgeon Shipyard.
This Splatfest also introduced a new mode, called Tricolor Turf Wars, where in the second half of the Splatfest, the three Splatfest teams could play in a three-way Turf War.
The demo also included a seven-day free trial for Nintendo Switch Online to allow anyone to take part, which was emailed to players when the demo began.
Event times
The demo was able to be played for twelve hours from each of the following times:
- Europe: 27 August 2022, 08:00 UTC
- Americas: 27 August 2022, 16:00 UTC
- Asia-Pacific: 28 August 2022, 00:00 UTC
The Halftime Report delivered by Deep Cut was delivered six hours after these times based on region. Results were posted at 14:00 UTC on 28 August 2022, two hours after the Asia-Pacific Splatfest had ended. Results were segregated by region.

Quotes
“ | OK, sorry - we're so excited that we're just gonna keep tweeting. How about that Splatfest World Premiere! First, the idea of a 3-way Splatfest is mind-blowing. And the theme? A statistical exploration of the benefits of Rock vs. Paper vs. Scissors? We're swooning. Scientifically.
Oh! We forgot to mention WHEN the Splatfest will be. It'll begin Saturday, August 27th at 9 AM PT. And it goes until 9 PM PT! You'll form squads with other folks who choose the same team - Rock, Paper, or Scissors - and battle it out to see which is best! |

Trivia
- For reasons unknown, Australia and New Zealand were combined with Hong Kong and South Korea when selecting a region upon first starting the demo, despite that they are combined with the Americas in the main game, like in Splatoon 2.
- Additionally, Japanese Splatfest text was available for the Australia/New Zealand/Hong Kong/South Korea region, despite the game warning that this may not be the case for players whose system language is set to Japanese.
