Levels, also referred to in-game as Freshness, are progress indicators in Splatoon as well as rank. Levels currently go from 1 to 20.
Levelling up
Levels are earned by playing any multiplayer mode. The amount of points received after a match go towards your level. Each level will require more points then the next, resetting each time you level up. Levels unlock new weapons from Sheldon, as well as better gear and features.
Notes
In order to get the Carbon Roller and Luna Blaster, you will need to download free DLC that was released on June 24th, 2015 at 02:00 UTC from the eShop.
