Mountain Vest

The Mountain Vest is a piece of clothing in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, it is a 3-star item produced by Inkline and comes with the primary ability Swim Speed Up. It can be purchased from Jelly Fresh for  11,000.

In Splatoon 2, it is a 3-star item produced by Inkline and comes with the primary ability Swim Speed Up. It can be purchased from Ye Olde Cloth Shoppe for  11,000 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for  16,500.

In Splatoon 3, it is a 2-star item produced by Inkline and comes with the primary ability Swim Speed Up. It can be purchased from Man-o'-Wardrobe for  11,000.

Appearance

The Mountain Vest consists of a purple down vest and a blue and white plaid button-down shirt worn underneath. The vest has a slightly shiny and wrinkly texture along with seven white buttons, two of which are on a pair of pockets near the bottom of the vest. Toward the top of the vest are sections of light and dark gray. The inside of the vests' collar consists of a dull yellow. The bottom of the plaid shirt pokes out loosely from beneath the vest. On the back of the vest underneath the collar is an Inkline logo, as well.

Abilities

The Mountain Vest comes with Swim Speed Up as the primary ability. As a 3-star item, the Mountain Vest comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Inkline gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Defense Up and a lower chance of rolling Damage Up to fill its secondary ability slots.

Splatoon 2

Abilities

The Mountain Vest comes with Swim Speed Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 2, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 3-star item, the Mountain Vest comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Inkline gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Bomb Defense Up DX and a lower chance of rolling Main Power Up to fill its secondary ability slots.

Splatoon 3

Abilities

The Mountain Vest comes with Swim Speed Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 3, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 2-star item, the Mountain Vest comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the Inkline gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Sub Resistance Up and a lower chance of rolling Intensify Action to fill its secondary ability slots.

• The Mountain Vest is the most expensive piece of gear with Swim Speed Up in Splatoon 2. It is tied with the SV925 Circle Shades for most expensive gear with Swim Speed Up in Splatoon 2.
