Tinted Shades

The Tinted Shades are headgear in the Splatoon series.

In Splatoon, they are a 1-star item produced by Zekko and come with the primary ability Last-Ditch Effort. They can be purchased from Cooler Heads for  350.

In Splatoon 2, they are a 1-star item produced by Zekko and come with the primary ability Last-Ditch Effort. They can be purchased from Headspace for  350 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for  875.

Appearance

The Tinted Shades are a pair of sunglasses with black frames. The rims are somewhat round and have tiny metal studs towards the hinges. The sides and lenses change color to match that of the wearer's ink. On the left side is the Inkling text from the Zekko logo in white. The Tinted Shades are completely mirrored and opaque from the outside. When viewed from behind, the glasses will appear to have no lenses.

Abilities

The Tinted Shades come with Last-Ditch Effort as the primary ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Headgear, prevents the wearer from also having Comeback, Opening Gambit, or Tenacity. As a 1-star item, the Tinted Shades come with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail or 30,000 cash for each slot. Since they are made by the Zekko gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Special Saver and a lower chance of rolling Special Charge Up to fill their secondary ability slot.

Splatoon 2

Abilities

The Tinted Shades come with Last-Ditch Effort as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Headgear, prevents the wearer from also having Comeback, Opening Gambit, or Tenacity. When purchased from SplatNet 2, they come with any other primary ability normally available to Headgear. As a 1-star item, the Tinted Shades come with one additional slot for secondary abilities, which may be increased to a maximum of three slots with a Super Sea Snail for each slot. Since they are made by the Zekko gear brand, they have a higher chance of rolling Special Saver and a lower chance of rolling Special Charge Up to fill their secondary ability slot.

Trivia

• The Tinted Shades are the cheapest gear with Last-Ditch Effort in Splatoon (but not in Splatoon 2, because of the Swim Goggles), and the cheapest Zekko gear.
