Krak-On
Krak-On is a gear brand within the Splatoon series and the designer of the Krak-On Splat Roller. Krak-On gear has a 5× chance of getting Swim Speed Up as a secondary gear ability and a 0.5× chance of getting Defense Up as a secondary gear ability in Splatoon and Bomb Defense Up DX (formerly Bomb Defense Up) as a secondary gear ability in Splatoon 2. In Splatoon 3, Krak-On gear accessories have a 5× chance of getting Swim Speed Up and a 0.5× chance of getting Sub Resistance Up as a secondary gear ability.
Krak-On's focus seems to be retro footwear that is usually alternative or quirky in its style, with such shoes as clogs, canvas high-tops, and canvas slip-ons. This retro theme is even continued with a waistcoat and a work cap.
According to SplatoonJP, Krak-On mainly produces natural-style shoes.[1] As of Splatoon 3, Krak-On has expanded its lineup of retro tops, such as shirts and hoodies.[2][3]
Logo
![](http://cdn.wikimg.net/en/splatoonwiki/images/a/aa/S_Brand_Krak-On.png)
The Krak-On logo in Splatoon consists of a blue stylised squid or kraken silhouette with a bulbous body, four tentacles, and two arms reaching upwards, in an orange-yellow circle with a blue outline.
For Splatoon 2, Krak-On changed their logo to have a red-orange squid/kraken, transparent circle, and to have dark blue and italicized Inkling text of some form diagonally across the logo, overlapping either side of the circle, and with a transparent outline. This logo was retained for Splatoon 3.

Quotes
Splatoon
“ | Krak-On is one of the older fashion houses in Inkopolis and has quickly become popular with squids who can effortlessly mix grandpa's hand me downs with more cutting edge new pieces. Krak-On's Basics line is a favorite across multiple generations of Inklings. | ” |
Splatoon 3
“ | The gear brand Krak-On is known for canvas sneakers, but now it appears to be offering shirts and hoodies with a vintage look. And this retro gear is far from outdated when it comes to supplementing one's abilities - we're keeping a close eye on the latest offerings. For science. | ” |

Trivia
- The name Krak-On is likely a pun on the legendary sea monster kraken and "crack on" as words of encouragement. This is further supported by the fact the Krak-On Splat Roller has the Kraken as its special weapon in Splatoon.
- Krak-On produces the most shoes of any gear brand in Splatoon, selling 13 different items.
- In Splatoon, there is no Krak-On gear that has Comeback, Haunt, Last-Ditch Effort, Ninja Squid, Opening Gambit, Recon, Swim Speed Up or Tenacity as a primary ability.
- In Splatoon 2, there is no Krak-On gear that has Haunt, Last-Ditch Effort, Ninja Squid, Opening Gambit, Respawn Punisher, Swim Speed Up, Tenacity or Thermal Ink as a primary ability.
- Krak-On is one of the brands that the player is first introduced to in Splatoon and Splatoon 2 due to the Cream Basics being part of the starting gear.
- It has been speculated that Krak-On's logo and some of its products are based on the real-life footwear brand, Converse.
