Hare vs. Tortoise, also known as SpringFest, was a Splatfest event in Splatoon 2. It was held for 48 hours in all regions from 19 April 2019 to 21 April 2019. It was announced on social media on 30 March 2019 and in-game on 12 April 2019. The results were given on 21 April 2019.

Details

The Splatfest theme is based on the folk tale The Tortoise and the Hare.

The full name of each choice was "HARE" and "TORTOISE". The team name portion of Splatfest titles was "Hare" and "Tortoise".

Hare vs. Tortoise featured the twenty-first Shifty Station layout, Bridge to Tentaswitchia, which included a large central area with walls on either side and an Ink Switch in the middle. When hit, the Ink Switch would cause the central section to permanently move past a wall, opening up new turf and leaving the old section untouchable, up to a limited amount of new turf. When it reaches the end, the Ink Switch will be locked in a cage. Sting Rays and Booyah Bombs can penetrate the glass walls, but using them to spin the Ink switch will do nothing.

Off the Hook's appearance on stage was modified for this Splatfest, wearing their Octo Expansion outfits as MC.Princess and DJ_Hyperfresh. In addition, Inkopolis Square and the stages were decorated with Easter-themed graffiti for the Splatfest.

• Until this Splatfest, the Japanese announcement dialog would have each Off the Hook member give a title and announce her own team, while the other languages would have Pearl announce the whole Splatfest theme ("X vs. Y") and Marina would react. This is the first time that the other languages take the Japanese format for the team presentation.
