The Garden Gear is a piece of clothing in the Splatoon series.
In Splatoon 2, it is a 3-star item produced by Grizzco and comes with a random primary ability generated when it is received. It is only available as a reward from Salmon Run as the monthly gear or in a Pink Capsule. It cannot be ordered from another player.
In Splatoon 3, it is a 2-star item produced by Grizzco and comes with the primary ability Ninja Squid. It is only available as a reward from Salmon Run Next Wave as the monthly gear or in a Pink Capsule. It cannot be ordered from another player.
Appearance
The Garden Gear consists of a dark gray shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the shoulder and a pair of white gardening gloves with yellow accents. On the front of the shirt is a small hexagonal logo. A larger variant of this logo appears on the back of the shirt. The same text on the logo appears on the gloves.
Splatoon 2
The Garden Gear debuted in Splatoon 2. It was released on 1 January 2018 at 00:00 UTC.[1]
Abilities
The Garden Gear comes with a random primary ability that can also appear as secondary abilities, which prevents the wearer from having Ability Doubler, Haunt, Ninja Squid, Respawn Punisher, or Thermal Ink as they are exclusive to Clothing and cannot appear as secondary abilities. This primary ability is assigned randomly when the item is received. As a 3-star item, the Garden Gear comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Grizzco gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.

The Garden Gear returns in Splatoon 3's Drizzle Season 2023 in version 5.0.0.
Abilities
The Garden Gear comes with Ninja Squid as the primary ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Clothing, prevents the wearer from also having Ability Doubler, Haunt, Respawn Punisher, or Thermal Ink. As a 2-star item, the Garden Gear comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the Grizzco gear brand, it has equal chances to roll any secondary ability.
