Black Inky Rider
The Black Inky Rider is a piece of clothing in the Splatoon series.
In Splatoon, it is a 3-star item produced by Rockenberg and comes with the primary ability Bomb Range Up. It can be purchased from Jelly Fresh for 10,100.
In Splatoon 2, it is a 3-star item produced by Rockenberg and comes with the primary ability Sub Power Up. It can be purchased from Ye Olde Cloth Shoppe for 12,100 or from SplatNet 2 Gear Shop for 18,150.
In Splatoon 3, it is a 3-star item produced by Rockenberg and comes with the primary ability Sub Power Up. It can be purchased from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 12,100 or from SplatNet 3 Shop for 18,150.
Appearance
The Black Inky Rider is a black leather jacket. It has a wide, pointed collar with two shiny metal buttons and an off-center zipper. Around the wearer's waist is a thick belt of the same material as the jacket, with a buckle in the shape of a stylized squid. The collar of a red shirt can be seen peeking out from under the jacket. The back of the sleeves have zippers that are partly zipped up.

The Black Inky Rider comes with Bomb Range Up as the primary ability. As a 3-star item, the Black Inky Rider comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Rockenberg gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Run Speed Up and a lower chance of rolling Swim Speed Up to fill its secondary ability slots.

When purchased from SplatNet 2, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). As a 3-star item, the Black Inky Rider comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Rockenberg gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Run Speed Up and a lower chance of rolling Swim Speed Up to fill its secondary ability slots.

The Black Inky Rider comes with Sub Power Up as the primary ability when purchased from a shop or ordered from Murch. When purchased from SplatNet 3, it comes with any other primary ability normally available to Clothing (with the exception of Ability Doubler). The Black Inky Rider may appear as a 0-star item with one additional slot for secondary abilities, a 1-star item with two additional slots for secondary abilities, or a 2-star item with three additional slots for secondary abilities. The star level may be increased with Super Sea Snails for 1 (first), 1 (second), 5 (third), 10 (fourth), or 20 (fifth) Super Sea Snails per star, or by purchasing additional copies of it from Man-o'-Wardrobe for 10,000 (first), 30,000 (second), 50,000 (third), 100,000 (fourth), or 200,000 (fifth) Cash per star. Increasing the star level beyond 2 stars will increase the gear experience gained by a cumulative 3.333…% up to 10% additional experience at 5-star level. Since it is made by the Rockenberg gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Run Speed Up and a lower chance of rolling Swim Speed Up to fill its secondary ability slots.
