• Speculation whether to have quotes here or not.
• Also, should the images for the recolour be a bit smaller?
• The squid icon for the US social media account used a green squid, until Splatoon 2 as seen here in Splatoonus. The orange squid icon was used by SplatoonJP and the UK Splatoon Facebook, until Splatoon 2.
• Should the Squid Sister be listed together or separately? Try mentioning that the green squid amiibo was released exclusively as a bundle with Splatoon in Europe.
• Are the main amiibo images too big? Maybe scale them down a bit.
• Describe the some of the amiibo(s') appearance. For example, Callie and Marie striking the "Stay fresh" pose.

Splatoon

Inkling Girl

The Inkling Girl amiibo was released on May 29, 2015 alongside Splatoon. The original Inkling Girl amiibo is a light-skinned Inkling with orange tentacles and orange eyes. She wears the Fake Contacts, White Tee, and Pink Trainers and carries the Splattershot. She appears to be based on the Inkling most commonly used to advertise the game, such as on the front cover and for commercials, along with the default girl Inkling.

In July 8, 2016 a recolored version of the amiibo was released in North America as a part of the second wave of amiibo in the Splatoon series. The recolored Inkling Girl's skin color remains unchanged, but her tentacles are lime green and her eyes are magenta. She wears the Fake Contacts, the Black Tee, and the Black Trainers and carries the Tentatek Splattershot.

Inkling Boy

The Inkling Boy amiibo was released on May 29, 2015 along with Splatoon. The original Inkling Boy amiibo is a light-skinned Inkling with dark blue tentacles and blue eyes. He wears the Fake Contacts, Zink Layered LS, and Purple Hi-Horses and carries the Splattershot. He appears to be based on the Inkling most commonly used to advertise the game, such as on the front cover and for commercials, along with the default boy Inkling.

Inkling Squid

The Inkling Squid amiibo was released on May 29, 2015 alongside Splatoon. The original Inkling Squid amiibo is a green Inkling in squid form, and appears to be based on the color of the squid icon used for the game and official social media account for the US. It is available exclusively for purchase in a pack of three with the Inkling Girl amiibo and the Inkling Boy amiibo in North America, and exclusively in a bundle with the main game in Europe.

The recolored Inkling Squid is orange, which appears to be based on the other color of the squid icon that's used in promotional material, such as the Japanese and European social media accounts.

Squid Sisters

The Callie amiibo and the Marie amiibo were released on July 8, 2016 in North America as a part of the second wave of amiibo in the Splatoon series. They can exclusively be purchased together as a bundle in North America, or individually in Europe and Japan.

Both amiibo appear to be striking the Squid Sisters' signature pose that they make at the end of their Inkopolis News segment.

Splatoon 2

Inkling Girl 2

The new Inkling Girl amiibo was released on July 21, 2017 alongside Splatoon 2. It can be purchased individually or in a pack of three with the new Inkling Boy and new Inkling Squid amiibo in North America.

The new Inkling Girl amiibo is a slightly-dark skinned Inkling with neon pink tentacles and orange eyes. She has a slightly short hair style, and wears shorts. She appears to be based on the default girl Inkling from Splatoon 2, along with the Inkling used to advertise Splatoon 2 in commercials and on the cover of the game. She wears the Fake Contacts, White King Tank, and Mint Dakroniks and carries the Splat Dualies.

Inkling Boy 2

The new Inkling Boy amiibo was released on July 21, 2017 alongside Splatoon 2. It can be purchased individually or in a pack of three with the new Inkling Girl and new Inkling Squid amiibo in North America.

The new Inkling Boy amiibo is a light-skinned Inkling with neon green tentacles and blue eyes. He has a short hair style, and wears shorts with pants underneath. He appears to be based on the default boy Inkling from Splatoon 2. He wears the Fake Contacts, Black V-Neck Tee, and Yellow-Mesh Sneakers and carries the Splattershot.

Inkling Squid 2

The new Inkling Squid amiibo was released on July 21, 2017 alongside Splatoon 2. It can be purchased individually or in a pack of three with the new Inkling Girl and new Inkling Boy amiibo in North America.

The new Inkling Squid amiibo is a neon purple Inkling in squid form.

Off the Hook

On February 11th, 2018, the Pearl amiibo and Marina amiibo were announced. Like the other amiibo, the player is able to befriend them, take photos with them, and receive special gear. Other details, such as the release date, are yet to be revealed. They will be sold in a 2-pack for $24.99 in the US.

Both amiibo appear to be striking the Off the Hook's signature pose that they make at the end of their news segment.

In Splatoon concept 2

• Either have the list say "amiibo with this functionality" or "compatible amiibo".
• Under the Squid Sisters amiibo, check to see if you even can enteract or talk to anyone of the characters, such as Spyke. Also should it be mentioned that the Inkling NPCs are the same used, when the Plaza is offline? (Fun fact, the names for these NPCs are the same in Splatoon 2. Another fun fact is that in Splatoon 2, they updated the look of the NPCs during the big november update, where some Inklings now have the some of the new gear and hairstyles from the update. Specifically, these Inklings resemble the ones used in the promo material for the update. BTW should there be made an article or reference page for these "characters"?)
• Add screenshot of the Splatfest Plaza mode and don't use a generic Splatfest photo.

Scanning in an amiibo

The only amiibo that can be used in this game are those from the Splatoon series, where all currently released figures are compatible. The amiibo can be scanned in an amiibo case situated in Inkopolis Plaza, and used to unlock twenty different challenges with five unlockable boss challenges in Octo Valley and new exclusive gear to wear into battle. The amiibo case is located at the southeastern corner of Inkopolis and it appears as the packaging amiibo traditionally come in. When scanning an amiibo (if the amiibo is registered) a flurry of paint circles the inside as the corresponding amiibo forms inside of it. The character introduces themselves and lays down guidelines for their challenges.

The Inkling Girl, Boy and Squid amiibo feature twenty challenges if the single-player mode, Octo Valley, has been completed. The first challenge gives the player six hundred cash as a reward, with the reward increasing by one hundred more cash for each next challenge (i.e. one mission reward is 1000 cash, while the next mission reward is 1100 cash). Each challenge can be completed again, though for only a reward of 100 cash. When three challenges in the same row are completed, the fourth challenge for that set is unlocked, being the boss for its corresponding area in Octo Valley. As opposed to a monetary reward, the boss challenges provide three pieces of gear for the first three bosses, a minigame for the fourth, and a weapon blueprint for the final boss.

The Squid Sisters amiibo allow the user to view concerts in the plaza, similar to a Splatfest. The different versions of the Inkling Girl, Boy and Squid amiibo share the same behavior, whith the challenge tree also being shared between the different versions.

School Gear and Hero Charger Replica

The amiibo offers 20 Charger challenges in Octo Valley and rewards the player with an exclusive costume piece for every four challenges completed in the corresponding area. After completing all challenges, the player will complete the set and receive the exclusive School Gear along with the Squidball minigame and the Hero Charger Replica blueprints, which is a reskin of the Splat Charger.

The amiibo that appears in the box relfects the scanned in amiibo, with the exception of Inkling Girl from Splatoon 2, where it defualts into showing the original Inkling Girl amiibo.

The amiibo offers 20 Roller challenges in Octo Valley and will provide the player with an exclusive character piece after every four challenges completed in the corresponding area. After completing all challenges, the player will complete the set and receive the exclusive Samurai Gear along with the Squid Racer minigame and the Hero Roller Replica blueprints, which is a reskin of the Splat Roller.

The amiibo that appears in the box relfects the scanned in amiibo, with the exception of Inkling Boy from Splatoon 2, where it defualts into showing the original Inkling Boy amiibo.

Power Gear and Hero Shot Replica

The amiibo offers 16 Kraken and 4 limited-Ink challenges, and shooter challenges in Octo Valley and will provide the player with an exclusive costume piece after every four challenges completed. After completing all the challenges, the player will complete the set and receive the exclusive Power Gear along with the Squid Beatz minigame and the Hero Shot Replica blueprints, which is a reskin of the Splattershot.

The amiibo that appears in the box relfects the scanned in amiibo, with the exception of Inkling Squid from Splatoon 2, where it defualts into showing the original Inkling Squid amiibo.

Challenges

The Inkling Squid amiibo allows players to complete specific Octo Valley missions in two ways: some can be completed as a Kraken with limited time, and others must be completed with limited ink. In the Kraken Challenges, the player is given the ability to turn into a Kraken instead of a Squid for the entirety of the level. In limited ink challenges, the player is given three or four full Ink Tanks to complete the level, but ink cannot be replenished. The challenges are as follows:

Squid Sisters

Both the Callie and Marie amiibo can be used to unlock exclusive in-game Squid Sisters concerts, including two exclusive solo songs; one for each sister. Using either of the Squid Sisters causes the Plaza to take on its appearance during a Splatfest, themed after the game's last topic, namely the Callie vs. Marie Splatfest. The player will be colored after and wearing a Splatfest Tee for whichever Squid Sister was used. During the concert, no buildings can be entered, nor can Judd be talked to.

The Squid Sisters can perform the following songs, each with their own dance routine:

• Now or Never! (Splatfest Battle - 1 Minute Remaining!)
• City of Color (Splatfest Plaza)

The amiibo offers to take pictures around Inkopolis Square, as well as all current multiplayer stages implemented in version 2.0.0. The player can also be given rewards from the amiibo in the form of gear and unlocking a music track for Squid Beatz 2, by battling online. While all Inkling Girl amiibo share the same dialogue, the game differentiates them according to¨whether they're from the Splatoon 2 or the original Splatoon lineup. The rewards the that are obtained depend on, which game the amiibo is from.

In Splatoon 2 concept 3

• Remember to mention that the Squid Sisters amiibo can only be used once you've cleared the Octo Canyon campaign.
• According to the official JP Twitter account the Off the Hook amiibo provide special gear.
• Try setting in a screenshot of the photo function.

Gameplay

Taking photos with an amiibo

Like its predecessor, only amiibo from the Splatoon series are compatible in this game, where they can be scanned in into an amiibo case situated in Inkopolis Square. Some of the new features they offer are being able to save full equipment sets and control settings, with each amiibo being able to store one at a time. These can be loaded to the player's Inkling in the lobby or Equip menu. They can also be used as in-game friends where the player can take pictures with them, while having the option to dress the amiibo up in its saved gear set. The places for these photo ops are located around Inkopolis Square, which accounts for all current amiibo, as well as all multiplayer stages implemented in version 2.0.0, which only goes for the Inkling Girl, Boy and Squid amiibo. Opon scanning them in for the first time, the player is granted some headgear of the amiibo's corresponding set as a reward and further rewards can be obtained by battling.

All the amiibo, except the Callie and Marie amiibo, can be used from the start of the game. They become available to use after the player has cleared the Octo Canyon campaign. If they're scanned in before reaching the mentioned requirement both amiibo will display a message in the form of a letter from the representing character, stating that they are too busy to show up.
