The "little buddy" is a Smallfry that accompanies the player in Splatoon 3. Its hair can be customized with seven different options. It is currently unknown what its role in the game will be, though it is speculated that it will play a part in the story mode.

Trivia

• It is unknown how or why the bond between the player's Inkling or Octoling and this Smallfry was formed - this is unusual due to the normal aggression Salmonids show towards Inklings and Octolings, and vice versa.
  • However, one factor may be that this Smallfry's nose matches its gray color, while the Smallfry encountered in Salmon Run have red noses.
• Little Buddy sometimes rides on the player's ink tank in the singleplayer mode.
• Little Buddy isn't affected by the Fuzzy Ooze. In fact, they can eat it & clean it up.
