Octarians in the Crater? Yikes! is the first level of Splatoon 3's story mode Return of the Mammalians.

Access

Accessing the first level is a rather straightfoward process, as the player has to simply walk down the corridors until their path is blocked by Fuzzy Ooze. Then they simply have to look at the right and will find the kettle.

Walkthrough

Checkpoint 1

The first section of the level.

The level starts off with the player going through a field filled with Crates and Balloons. It is followed by a Launchpad which directly leads to the next checkpoint.

Final Checkpoint

The second section begins with a Balloon Fish in front of multiple crates stacked on top of eachother, acting as a wall. After popping the Balloon Fish, the player is given the choice to go on one of three paths. The path ahead leads to the goal, while the ones on the left and right lead to more Power Eggs. Yet again, to gain access to these paths, the player can pop more Balloon Fish to break the crates blocking the paths.

On all three paths the player has to make use of Splat Switches in order to go onward.

Additionally, the paths leading to Power Eggs contain crates which can only be broken by throwing Smallfry (character) on them.

If the player ventures forth they will eventually cross paths with an Octotrooper. The player is given the choice to either sneak up behind walls or fight head-on.

After defeating the enemy and activating another Splat-Switch, a bridge will allow the player to rescue the Zapfish and finish the stage.

Lookin' at a faraway crate and dreaming? Maybe your Smallfry buddy can help. Try pressing R!
Wow! That crate never stood a chance!
Tryin' to splat juuust so? Aim carefully with the circle in the middle of your screen.
Another job for your Smallfry buddy Press R to give it a toss!

That's a Zapfish! Ink up that force field until it bursts, and then bring it on home.
