Appearance
The Gas Mask is a full-face black mask with a series of straps securing it to the wearer's head. Both the lenses and a thin stripe on the front filter change to match the color of the wearer's Ink, and unlike most modern military-grade gas masks, it has two side filters instead of one.
Splatoon
Abilities
The Gas Mask comes with Tenacity as the primary ability, which, being exclusive to the main slot of Headgear, prevents the wearer from also having Comeback, Last-Ditch Effort, or Opening Gambit. As a 3-star item, the Gas Mask comes with three additional slots for secondary abilities. Since it is made by the Forge gear brand, it has a higher chance of rolling Special Duration Up and a lower chance of rolling Ink Saver (Sub) to fill its secondary ability slots.
Splatoon 2

Trivia
- The Gas Mask is the most expensive piece of gear with Tenacity in Splatoon. It is tied with the Blue Sailor Suit and Tentacles Helmet for the most expensive Forge gear.
- The early version of the Gas Mask looks a lot different from the final version. The mask is a cream-like color, instead of black and the eye holes look like they are not see-through.
- The character Mask (character) from the Splatoon (manga) series wears this headgear, hence his name.
