Template:InfoboxCharacter Drizzlers are Boss Salmonids that appear in Salmon Run in Splatoon 2.

Description

They use their umbrellas to fly around the map. Once they find a spot, they plop down, and use their umbrella as a shield. While like this, Drizzlers fire a projectile into the air that rains down ink on nearby areas like the Ink Storm. The recoil from their weapons causes Drizzlers to flip upside-down after firing, leaving themselves vulnerable; they can also be hit from below as they drift from one location to another. The projectiles themselves can also be reflected if shot at, which will defeat the Drizzlers instantly upon direct hit. Their storms will only splat if stayed in to long, and are easily avoided unless you are trapped. Drizzlers can be a good source of Golden Eggs in a pinch as they will actively approach the nearest player, so a useful tactic is to wait and lure them near the Egg Basket (while shooting down the projectiles away from them) for faster Golden Egg collection.

Salmonid Field Guide

The following text is quoted from the Salmonid Field Guide.

Basic Information
  • A flying fighter specializing in surprise attacks.
  • Covered in armor that renders it essentially impervious to ink.
Attack Behavior
  • Fires midrange attacks using special projectiles.
  • These projectiles explode into a shower of ink.
Elimination
  • It is susceptible to attack immediately after it fires.
  • With good timing, it's possible to reflect the shot and hit the Drizzler with its own projectile, taking it down in one go.
Supporting Information
  • The ranks of the Drizzlers are made up by renegade Salmonid who prefer to go it alone and fight on their own terms.
  • Well-protected against ink by unusual umbrella-like armor.
  • The immense recoil from discharging its weapon temporarily exposes the Salmonid within its armor.

Tips

  • Drizzlers will only land at predetermined spots, allowing experienced players to ambush before they land at the next spot.
  • Drizzlers will follow the nearest player upon take-off, which can be used to lure them near the Egg Basket for quick Golden Egg collection.
  • Drizzlers will target said nearest player when firing projectiles. If possible, said player should position away from the rest of the crew or move seaward to minimize Ink Storm damage and enemy ink coverage.
  • Players can determine where the Drizzler will fire its Ink Storm projectile by observing where its scope points.
    • A Drizzler projectile has 100 HP. Upon depleting its HP, the projectile will fly downwards facing the same direction as the player at that time. In order to deflect the projectile back at the Drizzler, players need to align themselves so that the projectile lines up between them and the Drizzler, or it will miss. So players should move where they see the Drizzler pointing its scope.
    • For slow travel weapons like the Grizzco Slosher, even if you swing at the projectile at a slightly off direction, as long as you are able to align yourself correctly before the projectile is hit, it will still hit the Drizzler.
    • The Drizzler will fire the Ink Storm twice in one location before moving on to another.
      • It takes about seven seconds for Drizzlers to re-fire the Ink Storm.
  • The fired projectile will have a metal casing which peels off over time, revealing a green balloon that slowly rises in the air and finally launches off and forms an Ink Storm.
    • The Drizzler will remain exposed until Ink Storm is formed, allowing time for the player to hit it with the projectile, metal casing present or not.
  • The Sting Ray and Grizzco Slosher penetrate the Drizzler's armor, damaging the Salmonid within even when its not exposed.
  • While a Drizzler is traveling, it can be damaged by being shot from below, or being rolled at when it is just about to land.
