Buoyant Boogie is a song performed by Turquoise October.

Description

Buoyant Boogie is a very upbeat song with a note sequence being repeated throughout. In this song, Callie is heard singing elements of Now or Never! reversed.[1] This makes up the main vocals of the track before an instrumental section is played. In the instrumental, the same note sequence can be heard with some whistling, tambourine sounds and drum beats before the song repeats itself. This track can also be played in Squid Beatz 2, with a maximum score of 93 and 156 in Normal and Hard modes, respectively.

Inkopolis Memorial Mixtape

Buoyant Boogie appears in the Inkopolis Memorial Mixtape after The Girl from Inkopolis and before Tidal Rush. During it, Agent 4 can be heard picking up and equipping gear.

Trivia

  • Buoyant Boogie is only heard in even-numbered Octo Canyon missions.
  • The note sequence at the beginning can be heard in the Squid Sisters' version of Now or Never! at around fifty seconds.
  • Buoyant Boogie lasts exactly one minute before it repeats. This may or may not be a coincidence, based on its usage of Now or Never! which also lasts exactly one minute.

Etymology

'Buoyant' means happy and ebullient, or able to float on water; 'boogie' is a type of dance. Altogether, "Buoyant Boogie" likely refers to a happy dance.
