Low Tide is a song.

Low Tide is essentially a Koto and other traditional Japanese instrument rendition of the melody of Tide Goes Out, played over Cap'n Cuttlefish's Theme with the same march-like rhythms and a prominent wooded drum pattern. It is heard in Splatoon 2 during the introduction cutscene when the player first enters Octo Canyon and meets Marie, in a similar fashion to Cap'n Cuttlefish's Theme from Splatoon. It can also be heard in Squid Beatz 2 with a maximum score of 55 and 93 in Normal and Hard modes, respectively.

  • The "low-tide ink" that Marie shoots at Callie in the final boss of Splatoon 2 is presumably named after this song.
    • Little is known about this type of ink, besides the fact that it stuns instead of splats and helps cure brainwashing, like what happened with Callie.

'Low Tide' is another way of saying 'Tide Goes Out', the song it remixes, both of which are linked to the character of Marie. It could potentially refer to the low mood Marie is feeling with the absence of Callie, fitting with the slow style of the song.
