Salmon Run Next Wave is a co-op multiplayer mode in Splatoon 3 for up to four players. It is a sequel to Salmon Run in Splatoon 2 and was revealed on 9 February 2022 during a Nintendo Direct.

Description

Salmon Run Next Wave was revealed on 9 February 2022. It is presumed that the rules will not change and that most Boss Salmonids will return from Splatoon 2, as well as some new ones. A new feature, Egg Throw, has been added. Players can use ink to throw held Golden Eggs to other teammates to put them in the basket. Additionally, any Golden Eggs thrown at the Egg Basket will be inserted automatically. Players can also use "squid rolls" seen in previous trailers. Occasionally, an Xtrawave will occur when a shift ends, where a King Salmonid appears and can be damaged with Golden Eggs, alongside regular attacks. The only known King Salmonid is Cohozuna. There will also be “Big Runs”, which are shifts that happen in multiplayer stages every couple months.

Rotations

As confirmed by the Splatoon 3 Website, Salmon Run Next Wave will be playable at all times.
