Squee-Gs are small automated robots that clean ink. They glow yellow when absorbing ink, and appear blue when idle. Squee-Gs cannot be harmed by ink and function more as an obstacle than an enemy as they do not harm [[Inkling]]s. They only move within a set area which makes predicting their behavior easy. Though they can be found on the ground, they are mostly commonly found clinging to walls in order to hinder an Inkling from swimming up them. Occasionally, they carry [[Power Egg]]s on their backs.

Ooh, that's a Squee-G... Ya can't hurt these fellas!

Squee-G (Suckerfish in the European version of Splatoon) are Octarian-made machines that appear in Octo Valley, Octo Canyon, the Octo Expansion, Return of the Mammalians, and the Shifty Station Zone of Glass. They cannot harm the player, instead serving to hinder progress by removing their ink. Splatoon 2 features a large, harmful variant known as the Industrial Squee-G.

Description

Squee-Gs are small, fish-like robots attached to a surface, either on the ground or a wall. When ink is on this surface (regardless of color), they automatically move to clean it up while making squeaking sounds. They cannot be destroyed, but are momentarily slowed down when shot at or stood on. Their eyes, fins, and mouths are a light teal when idle and turn yellow when they spot ink. Most Squee-Gs are generally square-shaped, although a few, which can be found at the Shifty Station Zone of Glass, have a rectangular appearance. Throwing Smallfry at one will cause it to panic because it's being bitten, thus rendering unable to move much, similar to Smallfry's interaction with Flooders.

Collectibles such as Power Eggs or armor can sometimes be found on their backs.
