Squee-G (Suckerfish in the European version of Splatoon) are Octarian-made machines that appear in Octo Valley, Octo Canyon, the Octo Expansion, Return of the Mammalians, and the Shifty Station Zone of Glass. They cannot harm the player, instead serving to hinder progress by removing their ink. Splatoon 2 features a large, harmful variant known as the Industrial Squee-G.
Description
Squee-Gs are small, fish-like robots attached to a surface, either on the ground or a wall. When ink is on this surface (regardless of color), they automatically move to clean it up while making squeaking sounds. They cannot be destroyed, but are momentarily slowed down when shot at or stood on. Their eyes, fins, and mouths are a light teal when idle and turn yellow when they spot ink. Most Squee-Gs are generally square-shaped, although a few, which can be found at the Shifty Station Zone of Glass, have a rectangular appearance. Throwing Smallfry at one will cause it to panic because it's being bitten, thus rendering unable to move much, similar to Smallfry's interaction with Flooders.
Collectibles such as Power Eggs or armor can sometimes be found on their backs.
Industrial Squee-G
- Main article: Industrial Squee-G
In Splatoon 2, there is a larger version of the Squee-G. This type of Squee-G can instantly break the player's armor or splat them (or any Octarians) on contact.

Etymology
"Squee-G" is derived from the surface cleaning tool, the squeegee.
"Suckerfish" comes from the robot's ink-sucking ability as well as real-life suckerfish.
