Overview

The stage is a Rainmaker match at Manta Maria against a team of Sanitized Octolings. The player must bring the Rainmaker to the goal on the other side of the map while the Sanitized Octolings attack the player in 5 minutes. Like in Online Matches, there is a counter on the top of the screen indicating how close the player is to the goal, and if the player is splatted while holding the rainmaker, a barrier will surround the Rainmaker. Unlike Online Matches, the Rainmaker does not explode after holding it for too long, and there is no overtime.

Collectibles

Mem cake

A patch of sun? A fresh-caught fish?
No bribe will swerve your eye for turf,
However desperately we wish.

Completing this test awards the player with the Judd & Li'l Judd mem cake.

Your mission here is simple: carry the Rainmaker to the enemy goal.
When you get the Rainmaker, hold down ZR to fire off a powerful shot.
You won't be able to use bombs while holding it, though, so take care.
You ran out of time - test failed.

OE Icon Cap'n Cuttlefish.png Cap'n Cuttlefish's Quotes

Oho - look who's here!
Halfway home!
The goal's just ahead - you can do it!
Ticktock!
— When the timer reaches 3 seconds left
Keep your chin up, squiddo. You'll get it next time!

OE Icon Marina.png Marina's Quotes

OK, you'll be carrying the Rainmaker this time. No time to waste - go get it!
Burst the Rainmaker's barrier with your ink, and then touch it to pick it up.
Wow! This is a replica of the Manta Maria down to the very last detail...
The goal's no good if you don't have the Rainmaker with you, Agent 8!
— If the player charges straight for the enemy goal without picking the Rainmaker up
Watch their movements, and when the time is right... blast 'em with a full charge!
Go, Agent 8, go!
The barrier's down! Hurry up and grab the Rainmaker!
If you don't grab it in time, it'll return to where it started.
The barrier's down! Hurry up and grab the Rainmaker!

OE Icon Pearl.png Pearl's Quotes

Looks like trouble...
Huh? This looks just like the Manta Maria!
So the lower decks of this ship are off limits, huh?
What are you up to? Grab that Rainmaker!
— If the player decides to go more than halfway to the goal without picking the Rainmaker up
Score! Now get it to the goal!
There's still time left, so dust yourself off and try again. Go get that Rainmaker!
You could lock down the area with your weapon before grabbing the Rainmaker!
Once the barrier is down, don't let the Rainmaker just sit there!
Yo - the Rainmaker is back where it started!
Get after it! Less than a minute left!

Translation notes

  1. "Schipperen" is a pun on "schip" (ship).
  2. "Schoon schip maken" is a Dutch phrase for "to make a fresh start" which is also a pun on "schip" (ship).
  3. 3.0 3.1 "To set sail" is "lever l'ancre" (literally, raise the anchor). The two words are homophones.
