If you’re detected, the Octoseeker will hover overhead before eventually slamming into the ground. When the searchlight turns red, that’s your cue to move out of the way—if you stay put, you’ll be squished. When the Octoseeker hits the ground, immediately ink one of its sides and swim to the top to take a ride. You can’t ink the front of the Octoseeker, as the cockpit window is not an inkable surface. Once on board, ink the top of the Octoseeker and look for opportunities to squid-jump to nearby platforms along the vehicle’s patrol circuit. When jumping off, be mindful of the four rotors on the corners. Hitting one of these may interrupt your jump, causing you to fall short of your intended landing spot.

Template:InfoboxCharacter Octoseekers are Octarians in Splatoon 2 and the Octo Expansion.

Description

The Octoseeker is a helicopter made by the Octarians for reconnaissance and attack. It is piloted by a (presumably elite) Twintacle Octotrooper, which uses a joystick to move the craft and a button to raise and lower it. The front contains a window for the Twintacle to see out, which is uninkable. The back contains a door and an A/C unit, presumably to keep the pilot comfortable.

Behavior

They are flying enemies and patrol around an area, raining down ink. They behave somewhat similarly to the Octostomp that their faces are modeled after. If they spot the player, they try to fly directly above them before falling down to crush them. They then stay on the ground for a while, giving the player time to climb up on top of them. Getting crushed by an Octoseeker will break the player's armor instantly, and therefore splat them instantly if their armor is already broken. Octoseekers may accidentally crush other Octarians while in pursuit of the player, and they are one of the only ways to get rid of Bumpers.
