The New Squidbeak Splatoon is a secret society of undercover agents created to battle the Octarians. The group is the successor to the Squidbeak Splatoon.

History

Splatoon

The New Squidbeak Splatoon was formed by Cap'n Cuttlefish after the Great Zapfish was stolen by the Octarians. He recruited his granddaughter, Callie, who in turn recruited her cousin Marie, into the platoon to search for the missing Zapfish.

Later, Agent 3 appeared in Octo Valley and met Cap'n Cuttlefish. After an introduction and explanation of the ordeal with the Great Zapfish and the Octarians, he recruited the Inkling as Agent 3, and ordered them to defeat the Octarians. Agent 3 then progressed through the various domes of Octo Valley, retrieving Zapfish and defeating the Great Octoweapons.

After the defeat of the Octowhirl, however, DJ Octavio, the leader of the Octarians, kidnapped Cuttlefish, leading him to send an SOS signal, which Callie and Marie received. Taking the role of advisors in Cuttlefish's absence, they guided Agent 3 as they continued their mission of retrieving Zapfish and defeating the Octarians.

Eventually, after rescuing all normal Zapfish, Agent 3 entered the kettle for Enter the Octobot King! to find the Great Zapfish and a tied-up Cap'n Cuttlefish. As Agent 3 approached the Great Zapfish, it was suddenly sucked up by the Octobot King, and DJ Octavio then revealed himself and engaged Agent 3 in a battle. In the last part of the battle, Callie and Marie overrode DJ Octavio's music and played the Calamari Inkantation instead, causing Cuttlefish to break the ropes and dance. Not long after, Agent 3 defeated DJ Octavio, rescuing the Great Zapfish and Cap'n Cuttlefish, and restoring power to Inkopolis. At the same time, DJ Octavio was captured and imprisoned in a snow globe in Octo Valley.

After the battle, the many Octarians that spectated would defect and escape to the surface, due to the Calamari Inkantation giving them "the groove of the squids".

Splatoon 2

Around nine months after the Callie vs. Marie Splatfest, Callie had vanished, as well as the Great Zapfish, and DJ Octavio had escaped from the snow globe. After two years from the main events of Splatoon, Marie begins to investigate the location of her cousin and the Great Zapfish, reaching the conclusion that the Octarians, once again stole it and kidnapped Callie.

As Captain Cuttlefish and Agent 3 are out in a mission, Marie recruits for the New Squidbeak Splatoon an Inkling codename Agent 4, in Inkopolis Square, asking to help her to retrieve the Great Zapfish and to defeat the Octarians. Agent 4 then, progressed through the Octarian dooms in Octo Canyon defeating the enemy troops and retaking the stolen Zapfish with the advice of Marie and Sheldon, as well as destroying the new Great Octoweapons such as the Octo Oven, the Octo Samurai or the Neo Octostomp.

After Agent 4 defeats the Octo Shower, it is revealed that Callie was kidnapped by the Octarians, which makes Marie need for Agent 4's help more than before. After this Agent 4 defeats all the enemies in the kettles on Cephalon HQ, Agent 4 faces DJ Octavio, who reveals to have kidnapped not only the Great Zapfish for his improved Octobot King II, but also to have brainwashed Callie with some "hypnoshades". During the battle, Marie and Sheldon arrive to the battle in a flying truck and with special ink, Marie takes off Callie's hypnoshades, leaving her stunned. After another round, Callie regains full consciousness thanks to Calamari Inkantation's rhythm, jumping into Marie's truck and beginning to perform these new "Spicy" version. Then Sheldon gives Agent 4 a new version of the Rainmaker to put an end to the battle. Agent 4 attacks the Octobot King II from ride-rails, until after receiving a lot of damage, the octoweapon falls to the arena and Agent 4 delivers the coup de grace by nailing the rainmaker into Octavio. Soon after, an embarrassed Octavio watches himself defeated again, concluding the battle with the explosion of the Octobot King II.

After the battle, Callie and the Great Zapfish return to Inkopolis where Pearl and Marina announce on TV the return of the Great Zapfish and Callie, concluding with the Squid Sisters' new song Fresh Start.

After Agent 4 return to Octo Canyon, Marie will talk to the recruit, showing her gratitude for having helped her thwart Octavio's plans, trapped in a snowball again, and for having saved Callie. After some time, Agent 4 can find Callie in the Cabin along Marie in Octo Canyon, giving her personal thanks to Agent 4 for rescuing her.

Marie and Callie keep giving advice to Agent 4 as well as commenting about the Agent's performance on Turf Wars.

Octo Expansion

Near the same time-frame as the single-hero campaign in Octo Canyon, Cap'n Cuttlefish and Agent 3 had a battle against an Octoling who left the Octarian army, in Octo Valley, until an unknown raider attacks them and bring them into Deepsea Metro. There Captain Cuttlefish wakes up alongside the Octoling, but with no clue of Agent 3's location. As the Octoling lost their memories, both individuals decided to team up to escape the abandoned station, eventually reaching the Central Station. There, the two find a telephone who introduces both of them to the Deepsea Metro and recalls the Octoling as test subject Number 10,008 which Cap'n Cuttlefish names them with the codename Agent 8. The telephone then explains that Agent 8's role is to complete various missions in the different stations with the premise of reaching the promised land by finding and collecting the four thangs. The telephone gives to Agent 8 the CQ-80 and the CQ Card to move through each station.

The missions take place in an area that is supposedly a testing lab, with a multitude of objectives varying from mission to mission. Completing a mission can reward the player with a mem cake, which are compressed memories.

Nevertheless, he still provided assistance, lending Agent 4 several hero weapons and occasionally commenting and giving advice during missions.

• If the player talks to Marie in Splatoon 2 for too long before completing the story mode, she might mention that she may have to look for an Agent 5.
