New Squidbeak Splatoon
The New Squidbeak Splatoon is a secret society[1] of undercover agents created to battle the Octarians. The group is the successor to the Squidbeak Splatoon.
History
Splatoon
Main Article: Octo Valley
The New Squidbeak Splatoon was formed by Cap'n Cuttlefish after the Great Zapfish was stolen by the Octarians. He recruited his granddaughter, Callie, who in turn recruited her cousin Marie, into the platoon to search for the missing Zapfish.
Later, Agent 3 appeared in Octo Valley and met Cap'n Cuttlefish. After an introduction and explanation of the ordeal with the Great Zapfish and the Octarians, he recruited the Inkling as Agent 3, and ordered them to defeat the Octarians. Agent 3 then progressed through the various domes of Octo Valley, retrieving Zapfish and defeating the Great Octoweapons.
After the defeat of the Octowhirl, however, DJ Octavio, the leader of the Octarians, kidnapped Cuttlefish, leading him to send an SOS signal, which Callie and Marie received. Taking the role of advisors in Cuttlefish's absence, they guided Agent 3 as they continued their mission of retrieving Zapfish and defeating the Octarians.
Eventually, after rescuing all normal Zapfish, Agent 3 entered the kettle for Enter the Octobot King! to find the Great Zapfish and a tied-up Cap'n Cuttlefish. As Agent 3 approached the Great Zapfish, it was suddenly sucked up by the Octobot King, and DJ Octavio then revealed himself and engaged Agent 3 in a battle. In the last part of the battle, Callie and Marie overrode DJ Octavio's music and played the Calamari Inkantation instead, causing Cuttlefish to break the ropes and dance. Not long after, Agent 3 defeated DJ Octavio, rescuing the Great Zapfish and Cap'n Cuttlefish, and restoring power to Inkopolis. At the same time, DJ Octavio was captured and imprisoned in a snow globe in Octo Valley.
After the battle, the many Octarians that spectated would defect and escape to the surface, due to the Calamari Inkantation giving them "the groove of the squids".[2]
Splatoon 2

Around nine months after the Callie vs. Marie Splatfest, Callie had vanished, as well as the Great Zapfish, and DJ Octavio had escaped from the snowglobe. Marie recruited Agent 4 and ordered them to retrieve the Great Zapfish and defeat the Octarians.

Splatoon 3

Between Splatoon 2 and 3, the former Agent 3 was promoted to "Captain", replacing the now-retired Cuttlefish.
About five years after Chaos vs. Order, the Great Zapfish was stolen for the third time. To get back the Zapfish, Craig recruited Agent 3 and Smallfry. After clearing the Fuzzy Ooze in the Crater and a battle with Octavio, they find out that the Octarians never stole the Great Zapfish, before plummeting into Alterna. While falling, a Fuzzy Ooze tentacle grabbed Cuttlefish, while Agent 3 lost their gear and Power Eggs.
In Alterna, Agent 3 met Agents 1 and 2, as well as Captain. They are trying to find Cuttlefish, as he disappeared in the fall. After entering the first kettle, O.R.C.A. does a biometric scan of Agent 3, and registers them into the "program". There are a series of tests that Agent 3 has to complete in order to get Power Eggs to clear away the Fuzzy Ooze. There is also Sardinium laying around for Agent 3 to upgrade their gear.
After completing World One, Deep Cut arrive, and tell the New Squidbeak Splatoon that Alterna was "their turf", and that only they can have the treasure there. They then promptly disappear.
As the player progresses, they encounter the members of Deep Cut in this order: Frye (The Future Stares Back), Shiver (The Pursuit of the Precious), and Big Man (The Obscurest Chiaroscurist). They have the parts of the treasure, which seem to emit the same signal as Cuttlefish's tracking device. After defeating each boss, Cuttlefish is heard on a radio, trying to contact the rest of the New Squidbeak Splatoon. The player learns that he is being held captive by Mr. Grizz, on top of the rocket in the center of Alterna.
After defeating Big Man in Happiness Research Lab, Captain and Agents 1 and 2 assemble the three pieces of treasure into what appears to be a tiller. Captain uses it to cut away all the Fuzzy Ooze surrounding the rocket, allowing them to enter. Inside the rocket, there appears to be large amounts of Fuzzy Ooze. Smallfry can't eat this, Agent 3 just has to avoid it.
In The Spirit Lifter: Steerage, the Great Zapfish can be seen in the center of the stage. Here it is presumably being used to power the rocket.
Finally, after reaching the top, they find Cuttlefish all dried up. Mr. Grizz then shows up, reveals his plan to turn all cephalopods into mammals using the Fuzzy Ooze, and flies off in the rocket. Agents 1 and 2 now turn their attention to the now-dried Cuttlefish. Captain picks him up, and starts to cry. But when one of her tears falls on him, the color comes back to Cuttlefish as he wakes up. But they still have to deal with Mr. Grizz and his "Hairmageddon". Then, Deep Cut shows up, and helps propel Agent 3 into deep space. For some reason, in the cutscene, Smallfry appears to fly.
Now on the orbiting rocket, Mr. Grizz comments on Agent 3's nerve, and the fight begins.
After Smallfry eats the Fuzzballs on Mr. Grizz's chest, Mr. Grizz adds more ooze to himself, and tries to turn Earth into a giant Fuzzball. He knocks Agent 3 and Smallfry into orbit. All seems lost, when Octavio, with his Octobot King L3.Gs, rescues the duo. Suddenly, Smallfry starts floating and three lights (see scroll 2) come together to transform him into Hugefry. While the grizzly bear and the salmon duke it out, the Squid Sisters perform Calamari Inkantation 3MIX with Deep Cut to power up the Octobot King. Agent 3 pilots the Octobot, sucks up the Fuzzballs on Mr. Grizz's body using the Ink Vac, and then spits it all back at him. Mr. Grizz's last words before exploding are "You will not receive severance paaaaay..."
With the world saved for a fourth time, Agent 3, Smallfry, and Octavio return to Earth, victorious. However, Grizzco is still functional, despite the CEO being murdered.

Sheldon - Horseshoe crab - As noted by Marie at Cuttlefish Cabin, Sheldon was invited to be part of the New Squidbeak Splatoon in Splatoon 2, but declined, maintaining that the "technology team" must keep distance from the "troops on the front lines".
