Description

Tomorrow's Nostalgia Today is an electropop song. The song was written in B minor, similar to several other songs by the group that are either in the same key or the relative major. During the second day of Splatfests, the Squid Sisters perform this song on top of two trucks in Inkopolis Plaza. The lyrics of the song were written by Callie with the intent to convey how much better Inkopolis has become in the years since the original Splatoon.[1]

The booklet included with Splatune 3 gives the official lyrics for Tomorrow's Nostalgia Today. The lyrics are nonsensical; the Japanese hiragana and katakana simply give the pronunciation.

  • Tomorrow's Nostalgia Today is one of two original Squid Sisters tracks not written by their original composer Shiho Fujii, instead written by new sound team member Yumi Takahashi along with Liquid Sunshine.
  • Before the song was revealed, the Squid Sisters' dance animations for the song were datamined in the 3.0.0 update of Splatoon 3. There were no audio files attached to it, however, and no music would play when the animations were hacked into the game.
  • This is one of the only songs in the game that have separate vocal and instrumental files, as well as City of Color (2023). This was the same case with the original City of Color in Splatoon.
