Deep Cut: Difference between revisions

From Inkipedia, the Splatoon wiki
(Tighten up the pinyin; The Chinese explanation is kind of unnecessarily long so I'm tightening that up too to match the length of other explanations. Drop the footnote as it is somewhat unnecessary trivia. Put back the alternate pronunciation of 期 given that this is the traditional version and qi2 is the pronunciation used in Taiwan.)
(Thanks for adding the alternate pronunciation. I added a slightly shorter version of the previous explanation, as it helps non-natives understand how the wordplay works (sound of 有 / 魷). Otherwise, the way the pun works might be lost among those who don't know Chinese. I don't see why the footnote shouldn't be included. It doesn't take up much space in the table itself and it helps understand the depth of idioms. Should there still be an issue, then perhaps a discussion should be started?)

The character 有 (''yǒu'', "have") is replaced by 魷 (''yóu'', from 魷魚, "squid"), which sounds similar.

Deep Cut is a band in Splatoon 3. It is a trio composed of an Octoling named Shiver, an Inkling named Frye, and a manta ray[1] named Big Man.

They are the hosts of Anarchy Splatcast, the news show of Splatsville, and also host Splatfests, with Frye, Shiver, and Big Man each representing one of the three teams in every Splatfest, fulfilling the roles of the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook from previous Splatoon games. During broadcasts, Shiver and Frye take seats on cushions on the ground on the left and face the audience, while Big Man holds a large TV on the right on which news announcements appear, also facing the audience.

Anarchy Rainbow is currently Deep Cut's only known song.
