The genre of most of their music is electronic, although their songs are quite varied within that genre. Their album art depicts many Fuzzy Octotroopers standing in lines and has a border with text, bearing a resemblance to the album art of Turquoise October, another band whose music plays in single-player modes.

Etymology
Octoplush is a pun on octopus, with plush possibly referencing the softness of the Fuzzy Octarians. Additionally, the name Octoplush is similar to OCTOTOOL, the Japanese name of Turquoise October.
