Inkopolis Lobby (originally called Lobby in Splatoon) is a song. It plays in the Battle Lobby in Inkopolis Tower in Splatoon and Splatoon 3.
Description
Inkopolis Lobby is a sparse rock song, with a simple drum and guitar instrumental, leaving a prominent focus on the vocals, which are altered and repeating, sounding similar to the "burp" noises heard in Turquoise October songs. The vocals can be extracted from the game data and isolated.[1] In Splatoon, the song plays in the Battle Lobby in the mode selection screen, and it can also be heard in Squid Beatz. In Splatoon 3, the song plays in Inkopolis Plaza's Battle Lobby; unlike the Battle Lobby in Splatsville, which uses a variety of different songs, the one in Inkopolis only plays Inkopolis Lobby outside of Splatfests. The song can also be heard in the jukebox if the Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass has been downloaded.
Remixes and covers
Without a Dop Doubt
A remix of the theme called Without a Dop Doubt replaces it as the Lobby theme in Splatoon 2. It is more complex than the original, containing additional electronic production, and the vocals from the original are chopped and changed, varying in pitch and speed. It can also be heard in Squid Beatz 2, with a maximum score of 60 and 119 in Normal and Hard modes, respectively.
Etymology
The word "dop" in Without a Dop Doubt could refer to the "burp" noises heard throughout the two songs.
