File:Tri Stringer Render.png
A promotional image for Splatoon 3 featuring an Octoling wielding the Tri-Stringer, a weapon included in the Stringer class.
For a similarly-named Boss Salmonid introduced in Splatoon 2, see Stinger.

Stringers are one of the main weapon types in the Splatoon series. They were introduced in Splatoon 3. Stringers can fire three strings of ink horizontally or vertically depending on whether they are fired while standing or jumping.

List of stringers

Note: The series are arranged by the order of their respective Tableturf Battle cards.

Series Description Variants Games
Splatoon 3 "3" icon.svg
S3 Weapon Main Tri-Stringer.png
Tri-Stringer
A stringer that has two levels of charge to unleash charged shots that briefly freeze before exploding, but cannot store its charge. File:S3 Weapon Main Tri-Stringer Flat.png Tri-Stringer Template:Ya
S3 Weapon Main REEF-LUX 450.png
REEF-LUX 450
A lightweight stringer that can store its charge, but cannot fire explosive shots. With tap shots it deals about the same damage as the Tri-Stringer but fully charged it deals more damage. File:S3 Weapon Main REEF-LUX 450 Flat.png REEF-LUX 450 Template:Ya
S3 Weapon Main Grizzco Stringer.png
Grizzco Stringer
A stringer that fires nine projectiles instead of three, with significantly higher damage and faster charge, but higher ink consumption. Its crosshairs also spread out far more than conventional stringers. It is a rare weapon exclusive to Salmon Run Next Wave. S3 Weapon Main Grizzco Stringer.png Grizzco Stringer Template:Ya

Quotes

We've obtained imagery of a new class of weapon known as the stringer. It seems stringers can fire ink horizontally or vertically depending on whether they are fired while standing or jumping. Either way, a simple press of ZR is all it takes to start splatting.
