Sheldon's Introduction

The N-ZAP '83 is an N-ZAP '85 that I've modified to faithfully recreate a classic limited-edition piece. It's so faithful, in fact, that the buttons might stick a bit sometimes... But that's all part of the charm, yes? The Point Sensor and Kraken make for a set that is handy for cutting off your opponents' advance.(NA)[a]

But that's all part of the charm, yes? The Point Sensor and Kraken make for a set that is best suited to cutting off the opponents' advance.(EU/OC)[b]

An N-ZAP '85 remodeled by Sheldon. The design is strangely nostalgic. The original weapon was better suited to a support role, but this version lets you jump right into the fray with a Kraken.
— In-Game Description(NA)[a]
The N-ZAP '83 is an N-ZAP '85 that Sheldon modified to faithfully recreate a classic limited-edition piece. It's so faithful, in fact, that players think the buttons might stick a bit sometimes... But that's not a bug – it's a feature, right? The Point Sensor and Kraken make for a set that is handy for cutting off your opponents' advance.

Sheldon's Introduction

The N-ZAP '83 is a replica of a weapon shrouded in legend. The original was only produced for a short time, but I brought it back! Support the main weapon with the fire-and-forget Sprinkler sub, and bring on the rain delays with the Ink Storm special! If you value aggressive inking and want to take a trip down memory lane, this set's for you!

Trivia

  • This weapon is based on the early 1983 version of the Family Computer, which has square A and B buttons.
  • As opposed to the N-ZAP '85 and the N-ZAP '89, the N-ZAP '83 has no real-world equivalent due to the Famicom's zapper being modeled and colored to resemble a real-world revolver.

Etymology

N-ZAP '83 is a shortened form of NES Zapper 1983. '83 is based on the year the Nintendo Family Computer was released, which serves as inspiration for the design of the N-ZAP '83.

The N-ZAP '83 has the same name origin in all regions.
