Sheldon's Introduction
The Octobrush Nouveau matches the Octobrush in stats but features an all-new Sub and Special setup! More specifically, it comes with the versatile Splat Bomb and Inkzooka for maximum ease of use. Brushes are a fun weapon type to use, so I'd use this set to get used to them if you haven't already! (EU/OC)[a] |

Tips
Perhaps, the most difficult to manage weapon in all the game, once mastered becomes a highly lethal assassination tool. Combined with the Run Speed Up ability, the Octobrush player becomes unmatched in traveling from one side to another of the scenario.
There are two main strategies for this weapon. The first one is as distraction for the opponent, as the Octobrush can quickly cover areas all over the map without a particular pattern, constantly confusing the opponent to know where exactly the team is moving.
The second strategy is as a face to face hunter. Due to its fast speed and strong inkstrike, Octobrush players chase, find and splat slower opponents. When narrowed by the enemy, the inkzooka is usually useful to repel the enemies back. Snipers and rollers are specially an easy prey for the advanced octobrush player.
Recommended abilities
Damage Up Damage Up increases the probability of a fast 2 flick splat, also increasing the effective range of the Octobrush, As such, the equivalent of 2 mains of Damage Up is essential for the weapon. Swim Speed Up With extra Swim Speed. Players can more easily dodge and splat there opponents before being noticed.
Special Charge Up Because of the Octobrush Nouveau somewhat poor covering ability, Special charge up is slow. So equipping Special Charge Up will let you use the Inkzooka more frequently for distant combat.
Bomb Range Up With improved bomb range, players can more effectively use Splat Bombs as range weapons due to the poor range of the Octobrush Nouveau

The Octobrush Nouveau was released on January 2, 2018 at Template:UTC.[2] It comes with the sub Squid Beakon and special Tenta Missiles for a support-focused playstyle.
Etymology
Octobrush Nouveau is a combination of Octo, latin for Eight, and Brush, as well as Nouveau, french for New. Octo likely refers to either Octopus, Octarians or Octolings. The word Nouveau may also refer to Art Nouveau. The suffix Nouveau is also used to differentiate it from the Octobrush. This trait is shared among the other alternate sets of the Nouveau brand.
ホクサイ・ヒュー Hokusai Hyū is a reference to Katsushika Hokusai, a famous Japanese Ukiyo-e artist. ヒュー hyū refers to Hue. Like Nouveau in the english name, Hue is used to differentiate it from the Octobrush.
