L-3 Nozzlenose D
The L-3 Nozzlenose D is a main weapon in the Splatoon series. It is an alternative version of the L-3 Nozzlenose.
Appearance
The L-3 Nozzlenose D is nearly identical in appearance to the L-3 Nozzlenose. The only difference between the two is that the L-3 Nozzlenose D has a sticker bearing the Dolphin logo on the hose.

The L-3 Nozzlenose D was released on 28 August 2015. It has the same stats as its base weapon, the L-3 Nozzlenose, but comes with Burst Bombs and the Kraken.

- The L-3 Nozzlenose D is a middleweight weapon.
- Each shot consumes 1% of the ink tank capacity.
- This allows players to fire 100 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
- This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main).
- When pressing , three shots will be fired at a time, as long as there is enough ink to fire all three.
- If there is not enough ink to fire all three shots, then zero, one or two shots will be fired instead, depending on how much ink is left in the ink tank.
- When firing a burst, a shot is fired every 4 frames.
- After the last shot in a burst is fired, another burst cannot be fired for 8 frames.
- When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.5 units per frame.
- After firing, there is a 25 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
- Each shot has a base damage of 29.
- Shots travel straight for 5 frames. After that, they may lose damage. A shot will lose damage until it reaches 14.5 damage at frame 15.
- Shots have a radius of 2 units.
- The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 1 degrees.
- The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 6 degrees.
- The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. The outer reticle will finish shrinking after 60 frames.
- The chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle increases by 2% per shot, and maximizes at a 25% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle.
- This means that it takes 13 shots to reach minimum accuracy.
- When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 40%.
- Accuracy starts recovering 4 frames after the player stops shooting.
- Shots initially travel straight at a rate of 22 units per frame for 5 frames. Shots travel straight for 110 distance units.
- Ink droplets occur every 116 units.
- The frequency at which ink drips from a shot occurs at a rate of 1.5 droplets per shot.
- There are a total of 10 different droplet patterns that can be created while firing this weapon.
- Droplets that occur within 11 units of the player have a radius of 23 units.
- Droplets that occur when they travel past 200 units of the player have a radius of 23 units.
- All other ink droplets have a radius of 16 units.

- The matchmaking range is 135. The game's matchmaking system looks at a team's average matchmaking range value, and matches them against a team with a similar average.
- The ink consumption of 1.15% and ink tank capacity of 100% allows players to fire 86 shots before needing to refill the ink supply.
- This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main).
- When initially firing the weapon in humanoid form, the first shot takes 3 frames to come out.
- When firing from swim form, the first shot takes 12 frames to come out.

The L-3 Nozzlenose D will return in Splatoon 3 in the Fresh Season 2023, or 3.0.0 Update. It functions the same as the normal L-3 Nozzlenose, but will have a different kit and appearance. It has a Dolphin sticker on the side of the hose, as well as a light blue and white color scheme, as opposed to a darker color scheme on the original weapon. The kit is unknown at this time. It was teased in the Fresh Season poster shown on February 16, 2023, and is set to release on March 1, 2023. Its kit consists of Burst Bomb and Ultra Stamp.

- The Nozzlenose family of weapons are visually designed after garden hose reels. This is also reflected in their names in some other languages.
- The D in the name likely represents the Dolphin on the side.
- The L in the name means "light", referring that this weapon is the lighter version of the Nozzlenose weapons.
- This is supported by the French and both Spanish translations of the weapon.
- This weapon is tied with the Enperry Splat Dualies, Ballpoint Splatling, Octo Shot Replica, and Tentatek Splattershot for the most expensive Inkjet in the game with 200p.
