The Heavy Splatling is a main weapon in Splatoon and Splatoon 2.
The Heavy Splatling is a main weapon in the Ss.

The Heavy Splatling is capable of firing bursts of ink with high range, low damage, and a fast rate of fire. Each fully charged attack consumes 22.5% of the ink-tank capacity, allowing players to fire off four full charges before needing to refill. It takes approximately 0.83 seconds to reach the first level of charge, and 1.25 seconds in total to reach the second level of charge. Reaching the first level of charge will cause the Heavy Splatling to fire for 1.2 seconds, while reaching the second level will cause it to fire for 2.4 seconds. Each ink bullet does enough damage to splat opponents with four hits.

It is capable of firing bursts of ink with long range, low damage, and a fast fire rate. Although relatively slow to charge, each ink bullet does enough damage to splat opponents in four hits.

Appearance
The Heavy Splatling varies in appearance between games. In S, the Heavy Splatling consists of multiple black barrels with orange supports connected to a large water jug that changes color to match the user's ink. In S2, the barrels are less blocky, the supports are yellow, and the water jug is at a diagonal angle instead of being completely horizontal. In S3, the supports are pink and gray, and a support was added to the water jug.

The Heavy Splatling is a main weapon in the Splatoon series.

It is capable of firing bursts of ink with long range, low damage, and a fast fire rate. Although relatively slow to charge, each ink bullet does enough damage to splat opponents in four hits.

Appearance

The Heavy Splatling varies in appearance between games. In Splatoon, the Heavy Splatling consists of multiple black barrels with orange supports connected to a large water jug that changes color to match the user's ink. In Splatoon 2, the barrels are less blocky, the supports are yellow, and the water jug is at a diagonal angle instead of being completely horizontal. In Splatoon 3, the supports are pink and gray, and a support was added to the water jug.

The Heavy Splatling was made available with the 2.0.0 update on 6 August 2015 at 02:00 UTC.[1] Its set consists of Splash Wall and Inkstrike.

Data

• The Heavy Splatling is a middleweight weapon.
• A full charge consumes 22.5% of the ink tank capacity.
• This allows players to fully charge 4 times before needing to refill the ink tank.
• This stat can be changed with Ink Saver (Main).
• The Heavy Splatling cannot store its charge.
• The Heavy Splatling is not rechargeable while firing.
• When charging the weapon, it will take 50 frames in order to charge its first ring and 75 frames in total for a full charge.
• With a single ring charged, it will have a firing duration of 72 frames. With a full charge, it will have a firing duration of 144 frames.
• When charging with an empty tank, the charge time is multiplied by 4.
• When firing, it shoots a bullet every 4 frames.
• When firing, the player's movement speed is set to 0.7 units per frame.
• When charging, the player's movement speed is set to 0.55 units per frame.
• After firing, there is a 40 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
• Each shot has a base damage of 28.
• Shots travel straight for 8 frames. After that, they may lose damage.
• Shots have a radius of 2 units.
• The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 3.5 degrees.
• The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 7 degrees.
• The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. The outer reticle will finish shrinking after 45 frames.
• The chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle increases by 2% per shot, and maximizes at a 30% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle.
• This means that it takes 15 shots to reach minimum accuracy.
• When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 30%.
• Accuracy starts recovering 4 frames after the player stops shooting.
• Within the first charge ring, initial shot velocity scales from 10.5 to 21 units per frame. Within the second charge ring, initial shot velocity is always 21 units per frame. Shots travel straight at the initial velocity for 8 frames. At maximum charge, shots travel straight for 168 distance units.
• Ink droplets occur every 200 units.
• The frequency at which ink drips from a shot occurs at a rate of 1 droplets per shot.
• There are a total of 8 different droplet patterns that can be created while firing this weapon.
• Droplets that occur within 11 units of the player have a radius of 19.2 units.
• Droplets that occur when they travel past 200 units of the player have a radius of 18 units.
• All other ink droplets have a radius of 14 units.

Sheldon's Introduction

The Heavy Splatling is kind of similar to a charger, but it belongs to a whole new weapon class! Hold ZR to pressurize the ink, and then release it to splatterize your foes like DAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKA!! But it uses a lot of ink and takes a while to charge, so this weapon can leave you exposed. Using the Splash Wall to impede your foes before unleashing an Inkstrike can be rather effective!(NA)[a]

Charge it up and let 'em have it with all six barrels! A maximum charge will unleash the full rapid-fire potential of this weapon.
— In-Game Description
This baby packs six barrels full of ink. Charge it up and let your enemies have it! Need some cover? Not a problem. Throw down your Splash Wall! This bad boy also comes with the Inkzooka Inkstrike (Sorry squidfriends, I am too excited to read properly) as a special weapon. It might just be the best weapon for squids that have watched too many 80's action movies!

The Heavy Splatling returns in Splatoon 2 with a new design, the main differences being a tilted drum and it being primarily yellow instead of orange.[3] Its set consists of Sprinkler and Sting Ray.

It appears in three Octo Expansion Stations:

Data

• While Main Power Up increases the number of shots fired, it does not increase the ink consumption relative to the amount charged, making the weapon comparatively more ink efficient.
• The Heavy Splatling is a middleweight weapon.
• The matchmaking range is 210. The game's matchmaking system looks at a team's average matchmaking range value, and matches them against a team with a similar average.
• The full charge ink consumption of 22.5% and ink tank capacity of 100% allows players to fully charge 4 times before needing to refill the ink tank.
• When charging, the player's movement speed is set to 0.62 units per frame.
• After firing, there is a 40 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
• Each shot has a base damage of 30.
• If a shot is in the air for more than 11 frames after being fired, it loses 1.875 damage per frame until it reaches 15 damage at frame 19.
• Shots have a radius of 2 units.
• The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 3.3 degrees.
• The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 7 degrees.
• The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. After 25 frames, the outer reticle will start shrinking, and will finish shrinking after 70 frames.
• The Heavy Splatling has a 30% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle.
• When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 30%.
• Within the first charge ring, initial shot velocity scales from 10.5 to 21 units per frame. Within the second charge ring, initial shot velocity is always 21 units per frame. Shots travel straight at the initial velocity for 8 frames.
• So at maximum charge, shots travel straight at a rate of 21 units per frame for 8 frames. Shots travel straight for 168 distance units.
• After shots stop flying straight, the velocity is set to 15.105 units per frame if it is not already lower than the listed value, and decreases further as it travels.
• Ink droplets occur every 200 units.
• The frequency at which ink drips from a shot occurs at a rate of 1 droplets per shot.
• There are a total of 8 different droplet patterns that can be created while firing this weapon.
• Droplets that occur within 11 units of the player have a radius of 18 units, and a width of 0 units.
• These droplets have their radius multiplied by a value ranging from 1.6 if they fell from a height above 100 units to 1.28 if they fell from a height below 30 units.
• Droplets that occur when they travel past 200 units of the player have a radius of 17 units.
• All other ink droplets have a radius of 12.6 units.
• Droplets that are far from the player and all other droplets have their radius multiplied by a value ranging from 1.6 if they fell from a height above 100 units to 1.6 if they fell from a height below 30 units.
• If no ink droplets have occurred within 11 units of the player for 0 shots, the next shot the player makes will force a paint droplet to appear at the player's feet.

Each charge uses a huge amount of ink, and charging it leaves you exposed for a while. If you use the Sprinkler well, you can keep a route open as you prepare to deal a death blow with the Sting Ray! The Heavy Splatling returns in Splatoon 3 with a slightly updated design, with its primary color being changed to pink. Its set consists of Sprinkler and Wave Breaker.

It appears in 2 missions in Alterna:

Data

• The Heavy Splatling is a middleweight weapon.
• The matchmaking range is 21. The game's matchmaking system looks at a team's average matchmaking range value, and matches them against a team with a similar average.
• The full charge ink consumption is 22.5% per shot, allowing the user to fully charge 4.44 times on a full ink tank.
• The Heavy Splatling cannot store its charge.
• It takes 50 frames to charge the first circle (0.83 seconds) and 75 frames to fully charge (1.25 seconds).
• When airborne or low on ink, it takes 200 frames to charge the first circle (3.33 seconds) and 300 frames to fully charge (5 seconds).
• The Heavy Splatling is not rechargeable while firing.
• When charged to the first circle, the weapon will fire for 72 frames (1.2 seconds), and when fully charged, it will fire for 144 frames (2.4 seconds).
• The firing duration is 1.44 times longer than the charging duration when charged to the first circle and 1.92 times longer when fully charged.
• When firing continuously, it shoots a bullet every 4 frames (15 shots per second).
• When firing while moving, the player's movement speed is set to 0.07 units per frame.
• When charging, the player's movement speed is set to 0.062 units per frame.
• After firing, there is a 40 frame cooldown before the ink tank starts refilling.
• Each shot has a base damage of 30, regardless of charge level.
• If a shot is in the air for more than 11 frames after being fired, it loses damage every frame until it reaches 15 damage at frame 19.
• The bullet hitbox for collisions with players has a radius of 0.2 units.
• The bullet hitbox for collisions with the environment has a radius of 0.2 units.
• The angle its shots can deviate while on the ground is 3.3 degrees.
• The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 7.0 degrees.
• The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. After 25 frames, the outer reticle will start shrinking, and will finish shrinking after 70 frames.
• The Heavy Splatling starts off having a 10% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle.
• This chance increases by 2% per shot, and maximizes at a 30% chance to shoot towards the outer reticle, meaning that it takes 10 shots to reach minimum accuracy.
• When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 30%.
• Accuracy starts recovering 4 frames after the player stops shooting. The chance to shoot towards the outer reticle decreases by 1% per frame, if the chance is not already at the minimum, meaning that it takes 24 frames to reach maximum accuracy.
• Initial shot velocity scales with charge level. At minimum charge, it is 1.05 units per frame, and at once charge circle or more, it is 2.1 units per frame. Shots travel straight for 8 frames, regardless of charge level.
• After that, the shot's velocity is set to 1.5105 units per frame if it is not already lower than the listed value, and it loses 36% of its speed every frame (including the first frame after it stops traveling straight). Once the shot velocity decreases below a certain threshold, it will begin to be slowed less and fall faster.
• Effective range scales from 9.78 units to 18.78 units, depending on charge level.
• This number may vary at different firing angles.
